Every jean brand is different, but most brands all share the same thoughts about slim fit, should be slim through the seat and thigh. Straight leg means there should be no tamper down your calf, but slim straight should fit a little more closely. These Jean's fit perfectly in the waist, but everywhere else, loose enough to be bootcut Jean's. Great material, color of product didnt really match the product image color, waist and length were right on the money. Just not the fit.

In any other brand, these would be a "relaxed" or "loose" fit. They do not match the picture what so ever. Very disappointed.

I have been paying $200 per pair for my favorite jeans for over 10 years. After ordering a few pairs of Ariats at well below that price I find that they fit better with absolute consistency and feel much more like old school denim than my high priced designer jeans. I now have seven pair. Absolutely first rate quality (the denim is typically heavy and will last a lifetime) and the most consistent sizing I have ever seen. No vanity sizes, just the real thing. Order what you "really" wear which in my case is a 34x34 even though in my formally favorite brand I ordered 33x36. OK, I've gained a few pounds even though the 33's still fit fine in the old brand, but I haven't grown 2" taller. My only complaint is that the "boot cut" versions are wide at the bottom and the extra wide boot cut jeans look like bell bottoms from the 70s. I wear them most of the time with cowboy boots and the straight legs will easily fit over any boot on the market, the boot cuts look great if you get the right inseam but the wider boot cuts are probably going to rip on the bottom. I don't care since these are such great jeans for an exceptional price. I am 5'10" and weigh 190 lbs. and I prefer the 34x34's unless I want some tight jeans in which case I order the 33x34's. Great product and great service by Amazon as always!

Definitely not slim fit. But that is OK I like the jeans. Ariat does need to calm down with the designs on the rear pockets. All in all a really quality pair of jeans. I’ve been looking for an acceptable replacement for Levi 517/527. Looks like I may have finally found it.

Don't be fooled by the words "Slim Straight Leg" in the title. My husband already owns a pair of Ariat bootcut jeans and loves them, but wanted a pair of straight leg jeans. These arrived and the leg opening is exactly the same measurement as his bootcut jeans. I'm returning them.

It seems that all Ariat jeans are sized differently. I have two pairs now, one 33 width and one 32 - had to return these ones twice and get a 36 - and no, I haven’t gotten fatter. Heads up when ordering from this specific shipper - these things STINK. I don’t know if they have skunks as guard dogs, a quality control guy who checks these out on a 95 degree day, on blacktop after wrestling a pigs third cousin, or they fumigate their warehouse with stink bombs - but damn. I had to wash the ones I wanted to keep three times, before soaking them in axe body spray and hanging them off then back of my truck at 70 miles per hour so that if I were to ever commit a crime, the bloodhound couldn’t just sit down and point me out with less effort than a monkey trying to impregnate a football. My favorite jeans, by far though. Would buy again.

There's no issue with quality, style or probably even sizing but more so a matter of how they wear on my body type. They feel a bit too baggy in the seat for a "slim" style - and I have a little bit back there. I haven't really mastered the coding. I have M7s that fit much better for a slim body. Don't let this review deter you. Maybe I'll come back and add a posed picture wearing them.

My skinny legs look fat in them. The are wide legs. Definitely not my style. I'll wear them around the house, but you won't catch me out on the town in them.
