The transformer (the part that plugs into the outlet) can not be used outdoors. There is a warning on the instructions that comes with the box. Perfectly fine for indoor use.

I wanted to add lights to my bushes out front and so I got started with these lights. I have A LOT of bushes/shrubs and these lights covered about half of one side. It's a very nice length - I will likely need two more reels to get full coverage. The lights are warm white and there are many settings options for twinkling and such. They are very pretty. They are waterproof HOWEVER we found it strange that the box specifically states that the adapter should not be outside. This is not very practical but we did try to find a protected dry spot for it. The lights come on a reel that is great for re-storing. Overall I think it's a great strand of lights if you have a safe spot for the adapter. ... show more

This is the longest single set of string lights I have tried and have in my decoration storage. The wires and thick and everything seems well made and robust. These have a decent IP rating for outdoor use and can also be used indoors. Every light lights up out of the box. These lights are on the warmer side of the spectrum. Power usage is quite low considering the amount of lights. The lights are bright regardless of the power usage. 5/5. I like having longer string lights like this. When I opened the box, there was a large reel with the lights. This is brilliant! Why have I not seen this before? Maybe I never had a strand this long! It is great to have 1 long strand that is so full of lights rather that needing to put several boxes of lights around. The lights work so well. They are bright and full.
