As a weekend welder, I am impressed with this thing. The settings are easily adjusted at 120v or 240v the machine works quite well. Of course on 220v it does thicker material. It seems to start easier in stick mode than the Lincoln that came before it. The MiG mode seems to work fine also. I had a couple of birds nests at first but tension adjustment has solved the problem. The synergic mode works very well and solves the headaches when adjusting. She did fine on some 1/4” mild steel and 1/8” 304 stainless steel. But she did well on some 18ga sheet also. It seems to be a very good entry priced welder. I think it’s great for small or moderate jobs for the non-professional. I wish I could’ve bought this thing 18 years ago when I bought the Lincoln

Works wonders.. especially like that it will set the wire speed and temperature for what im welding .. haven't tryed to aluminum weld yet but hope is works as good as thw wire feed .. does a nice weld also . Will by another one soon ..

I am new to welding and learning from Youtube videos. I have tried flux core, stick, and now MIG with 75/25 gas. It does everything I will ever need for home projects. I like the all metal wire feed mechanism. Cheaper welders use plastic.

I had high hopes for this welder after reading all the reviews. I was hoping to replace my aging TIG welder and also get TIG capabilities at the same time. However, this thing does not perform like a 200A MIG welder. Simply does not have the power to weld heavier metals. The lift TIG function works well, hence the 4 stars. This welder would be fine for the home hobbyist and will stick 2 pieces of metal together. I must be truthful. My test was side by side with my 25 yr old Miller 170Amp, and Arccaptain @200Amps came nowhere near the weld of the Miller set @150Amps. Maybe I am asking too much from a budget welder, but they make big claims so I decided to test them. The GOOD: It is lightweight and easy to move around. It does do well on the lift TIG function. I ran several welds and found it easy to use and this would be a good unit for someone wanting to get into TIG without breaking the bank. Setup and adjustment is easy and fairly straightforward, however, the manual they provide could use some work. I did not test the stick function. I cannot speak on durability, but machine seems well built, MIG torch is of good quality. The NOT SO GOOD: I believe the ground cable is too small. Needs to be a larger size and the ground clamp needs to be better quality. Does not weld in MIG function like the 200AMP welder it claims to be.

Took a while to get adjusted for stick welding, but mig is a breeze. Pro welder showed me how to use it and it is great for beginners like me. I was welding first day. My welds aren't perfect but the pro who was teaching me did great. I need practice. Bucket list item checked.

Welder seems to be a great machine however didn't get a chance to use it . I brought it to Jamaica and before I could have used it hurricane Melissa came . It was completely covered in sea water due to the beach property. I sent pictures and emails to ARCCAPTAIN they told me they can only give me a $40 discount on a new one . I literally told the person in email to go on YouTube to see the devastation the hurricane did to the island then the feeling she has in her stomach is the same way I felt amount the $40. So i told her to keep the offer. My primary reason for reaching out was to get the wire feed that was completely damaged. So I would say poor customer service.

Got welder for Christmas 2025 and didn’t try to use it till a couple of months later. The spool motor would not work, I checked the manual and watched videos, but couldn’t make it work. I called arc captain support and were extremely helpful. They told me things to check and decided I had a defective unit. Then sent me a new welder and so far seems to work great. I couldn’t have asked for better support!
