Description

The Arcan ALJS6 6 Ton Steel Jack Stands has an overall 6 ton lifting capacity and a working range of 15. 5" to 24". A counterweighted pawl locks in place securely to prevent slipping, while allowing easy adjustments. A large contoured saddle with locating lugs helps support and position vehicle frame. The wide stance base delivers superior stability and includes base pads that prevents the jack from sinking into ashphalt and provide stable footing for the jack stands. The welded construction and alloyed steel offer years of support. We put all of our lifting equipment through voluntary and rigorous third party safety testing, as outlined by the ASME PASE-2014 Safety Standard for Portable Automotive Service Equipment, to ensure that our products are among the safest on the market.

Last December (2022) I purchased Arcan's 3-Ton Aluminum Floor Jack and having been pleased thus far with its build quality and performance I figured might as well give their jack stands a shot as well.     • Sturdy but crudely made in China
As several reviewers mentioned, these are made in China, NOT India. Not sure why I am complaining about how rough they are because the job is to hold up a large vehicle. They do that. Still, these are very crude with sloppy welds, unfinished iron casting in points of contact, and a barely adequate paint job. I guess I was expecting more for the price. I will also echo another reviewer that I was expecting a little thicker steel at the stress points. They need to revise the misleading country of manufacture so buyers don’t think their getting something they’re definitely not. Bottom line: gets the job done but seems overpriced for what it is. ... show more

I selected these jack stands because they're advertised as "Made in India" which I consider infinitely better than "Made in China". When they showed-up, the box says "Made in China". First Guess: The colors were reversed when production moved from India to China. My stands have a green base, with a black upper support bar--the opposite of what is pictured. As of 19 October 2022, photos and description of this item need to be updated. The stands require a hammer and punch to properly assemble. Once the upper support bar is dropped into the base, there's a small "tab" that has to be hammered inward to prevent unintentional disassembly. This damages the paint on that "tab", both where the punch is placed, and where the metal bends. Other reviews describe these stands as "sturdy". And that's not a lie. But it's also a sign that the other reviewers have no basis of comparison. The stamped/welded steel of the base is approximately 1/8 (4/32) inch thick. My older 6-ton jack stands--that I've had for over twenty years--have bases made from stamped/welded 5/32 inch thick steel. The collar where the ratchet mechanism is is also significantly thicker/stronger on my old stands. (See photo of my old stand, and photo of new stand with caliper measuring the steel collar thickness.) These are "OK". I'm going to keep them, and I expect they'll function adequately. But I might have selected another product if I'd known these were made by Communists. ... show more

Use these on my 2000 GMC truck nice high lift on them.. seem like solid stands and they match the jack I got from them so far all mine has come in the green color
