Baby was prescribed Nystatin for raw skin due to allergic reaction. In addition to that, I paired this diaper rash paste with the Baby Aquaphor to create a very thick layer in order to fully coat and protect the skin. This soothed the irritated area while the diaper was on. I also allowed my baby to go without a diaper for several periods throughout the day to let the area breathe, but I still would have a layer of the paste and aquaphor on during these windows. I also used only water wipes (completely alcohol free!) or washed baby’a bum in bath with warm water and oat milk or breastmilk. Within a couple of days, the redness decreased and the patches of raw skin were healing over. I ordered about 4 tubes because you want to be very generous with the application if the rash is severe. No complaints of smell, no allergic reaction (and my baby has high skin sensitivity), overall good product. PLEASE NOTE for a few changes my baby did cry when applying simply because it was sensitive to touch, not because of the product itself. I prayed, sang to my baby, kept my baby’s focus on something more joyful and kept my calm and this made each change easier for us both. Hope this helps a mom or dad! <3 ... show more

Aquaphor makes two diaper rash pastes at the same price, and this is the one is the better one because it has a higher zinc content heals even quicker. It protects well and clears redness fast. My daughter was in the hospital for seven weeks, and this paste was part of every diaper change. She never had redness during that time. Once she started daycare, we saw irritation several times a week because diaper changes were done on a fixed schedule instead of when she actually needed it. Hi! Imma give you a little secret.. this stuff works. It’s fabulous. For my sensitive baby tushies.. I’m going to tell you a little secret for when your baby is having horrendous diaper rash..and I mean bad..or even a slight breakout before it gets worse Get mylanta.. I know.. weird right.. it’s for ingesting..just do it. It doesn’t matter the flavor. We do the lemon (I know..I know..trust the process) because caramel sounds like a sticky mess. It doesn’t burn. I’ve literally had it on an open cut on my finger. Shake the mylanta, apply it with a cotton ball by dabbing it. You want a nice layer. It needs to completely dry. Use a little hand held fan or blow on the area if you have the lungs or fan it with a diaper. Just make sure it’s dry. Now, apply the zinc oxide to the area. The mylanta creates a barrier to keep the affected area dry and diaper rashes tend to be caused by acidity. This can be from food, teething, sitting in a diaper too long, heat rash, etc. Our poor boy doesn’t get them often but when his has too many teeth coming in at once..it’s bad. there is also a bath soak with epsom salt and Oatmeal..I can’t remember the brand but it’s for babies and diaper rashes. DO NOT APPLY THIS REMEDY AFTER. IT WILL HURT. I soaked my baby in the bath and put him in his play area with mats and towels nude to dry out instead. After 15-30 minutes of nudeness from the bath, then I applied my remedy directed by his pediatrician. (Always consult your pediatricians if you have concerns or prior to using) biggest thing..it needs air, give them some air time. I also sized up his diaper so it wasn’t rubbing. **I mixed the two products together in a little jar for when I see enough improvement to skip The drying step but it only seems to work when the area is a lot better. My newborn had a diaper rash that was starting to look bad. I had tried aquaphor baby and other things and it wasn't clearing it up. This got rid of it in literally 2 days. Best diaper rash cream i have ever tried and this is my 3rd kid. Buy it!
