Used product to add to water pump from natural water sources in the outdoors hiking . Many different water sources and Hiking through Farmland with livestock. Use the product for extra precaution for cleansing and purification of any residual bacteria protozoa . Product work very good. of course the chlorine taste isn't very good not sure anything can be done about that. The chlorine taste is tolerable but not pleasant. Opening each tablet package cumbersome because the tablets are so small you can drop them and lose them. If possible a small container where one tablet can be pushed out at a time would be easier to dispense especially during hiking and outdoor use when your hands are very dirty because there is limited hand-washing available. I assume the package this way because moisture contamination and deterioration of the tablets Making packaging tricky. ... show more

    • Chlorination made easy
A simple and compact way to chlorinate water. The two 1oz bottles are small making system ideal for through-hiking or backpacking where carrying water is not practical and there are natural water sources like creeks, rivers and lakes. Put 7 drops of chlorine dioxide (Part A) and 7 drops of phosphoric acid (Part B) into white cap, swirl cap and wait 5 minutes. Chemicals will turn yellow and you will smell the chlorine. Add to a liter/quart of water and stir. After 15 minutes the water is ready to drink. I use Aquamira drops in conjunction with my MSR AutoFlow Gravity Water Filter. The filter takes care of particulates and bacteria and I chlorinate to kill viruses. I filter and then chlorinate. There is no detectable taste or smell of chlorine in the water after treatment. ... show more

    • leaking, different cap
I've been using Aquamira for backpacking for years but what I received was no good. The first problem was that it arrived with a different cap for mixing than is shown in the photos (instead of fitting on top of one of the bottles it was separate all together, and not efficient for carrying. But the real problem is the bottles leak! I took them on a trip and they spilled all over the bag I had them in, regardless of how many times I tried to tighten the bottles.
