I wanted an in between blanket to bridge winter into summer in Western New York. I was hesitant to buy this because of some of the reviews that it was too thin. At first when I unpacked it there was an odor, not overwhelming but definitely there. It was a thin blanket too. I washed it in tepid water and dried it on low. Well, this blanket came to life. When you first open it it’s wrinkly and smells. The smell permeates the room but fades after a day. I did wash it and the smell is gone but wrinkle stayed. I used to use a quilt as a blanket as it gets hot in Arizona but I wanted a light weight comforter for the softness. I used to also use a throw to put on top of my quilt because it gets cold with the ac blowing. I also tried other comforters to help me keep a little warmer but I started to sweat. With this comforter, I didn’t need a throw and it kept me warm enough but not too warm. I recall getting a little hot but after a few nights it wasn’t bad at all. It’s a good purchase. ... show more

We live in the desert and needed a LIGHTWEIGHT but warm-enough comforter, and this one is the BEST ever. I have 3 (this one is for summer because it has super thin feather fill, then I have another very thick one for winter and a medium weight feather one for warmer winters or colder autumns). It's pretty, too, with the satin trim so it can be used alone on the bed, but I plan use a duvet cover to keep it protected. NOTE: Before buying, if this is important to you if wanting to put it into a duvet cover, this comforter DOES NOT have loops to affix it inside a duvet cover. Just so you know. ... show more
