I typically like to sleep with the air going so I can cozy into my comforter. This comforter is great, but be advised that it is very warm. I tend to stay cold and I was overheating under this comforter in the summer time even with the air and fan going. It is a good winter comforter though.

When I got it I almost returned it because it had much less material and volume than my previous feather duvet which was too cold for me. But after one night of sleeping in it I realized that its perfect. I consider myself "cold all the time" so this works very well for me. The reason I bought it is because I needed only one blanket on my bed rather than three, to optimize my time.

I got sucked in, I think, by the so-called “original” price and the “limited time” sales price when I was shopping for my son’s new comforter. I find these items incredibly hard to shop for. The descriptions make them all sound glorious, thick, fluffy and cloud like. Then reviews are almost always a crap-shoot and the prices are all over the map. I had just purchased one for myself, but had only had it a couple of days. It was a larger size, and overall more expensive than his budget allowed. When I saw the savings advertised, I thought I would be getting him a better quality comforter. It arrived fast and nicely packaged. But as soon as we opened the vacuum sealed bag, you could smell this unpleasant oder. It was pretty strong. You could smell it just walking into the room. I had read reviews about this on many comforters but my comforter didn’t have any smell to it and I assumed some people just had a sensitive nose. It also looked VERY flat, even though we saw it fluff up once it was released from the vac sealed bag. Still, we shook it out and laid it across our quest room bed to air out and to give it time to fluff up. Instructions said it only needed a few minutes but that is not my experience. I checked on it every 30 min or so, and we shook it several times over the 5 hours we let it air out/fluff up. If it was for my bed, I would have sent it back. However, my son was very excited about it and didn’t seem bothered my the smell and was anxious to get it in the duvet cover and onto his bed. The comforter was VERY creased/wrinkly, but it was soft. It also had loops to tie it into the duvet cover along the sides, top and bottom, not just the corners, which I liked as well. Thankfully the duvet cover chose made a world of difference in the appearance of the comforter, hiding all the creases and wrinkles. Bottom line, I think the “savings” you think you are getting is misleading (I don’t think it ever lists for that price, and it would have for SURE gone back if we had paid that much!) I think the smell is a complete turn off, but I believe it will disappear over time and even though it never fluffed up as much as I would have expected, it did fill out a bit and once the duvet cover was on, it looked pretty darn good and he was thrilled to have something that looked like hotel bedding on his bed. I planned to buy a down comforter and duvet as soon as my quest room bedding needs replaced. I will NOT be choosing this brand.
