This cable works, while others don't. Just another example of Apple gouging you. It absolutely should come with the $500 headphones they sell. 3rd party cables did not work for me at all.

SO - when I bought my AirPods MAX - I bought them with the intention of being able to listen to the audio on a plane. My initial thought was: awesome - all I need is a lightning to 3.5mm cable and I'm SET! No need to buy an expensive bluetooth adapter and no need to worry if it's charged / will last long enough for the flight or movie. SO - I bought the cord for something like $10 and was feeling happy about it... until I tested it... it didn't work... My heart sunk - did I just spend $500 for headphones that won't serve my #1 use case?? Good news is no - I didn't... I just spent $10 on the wrong cable. Pretty much every lightning to 3.5mm audio cable on the market right now is what's called: Uni-Directional. Meaning that it will only work in one direction. MOST of these cables were made to plug your iPhone into an audio speaker or car stereo... they work ONLY when the sound goes from the lightning plug into the 3.5mm audio jack. HOWEVER, AirPods MAX need to work in the other direction... pushing sound from the 3.5mm audio jack into the lighting port. THIS Apple cable (and yes - it's WAY more expensive than you want it to be), is BI-DIRECTIONAL - meaning it will transmit sounds in both directions... In short: it solves the problem and allows you to listen to the movie on a plane (or any other sound source that has a 3.5mm audio jack). So get this bi-directional cable and solve your AirPods Max issues!

Cable is overpriced. The other options look horrible so that’s why I picked this up. It works don’t get me wrong but if Anker made one it’d be cheaper and same quality and a different color! It’s dumb to make a headphone with lightening cable ports.

It does the job just fine, but $35 for a 1.2 meter cable is outrageous. If you actually want room to move around with expect to buy an aux connector along with this.

Let me first say this cable works with Airpod max headphones. Stop looking elsewhere, you'll only find yourself silence and disappointment. To be honest, and I understand what item I am reviewing, you really don't need this cable for your Air Max headset. Through meticulous research of just listening to a lot or music while high, I have come to the conclusion that I honestly cant tell a difference. The cable works as intended. It may feel like it will break apart just by breathing on it but it has survived my crazy lifestyle so far. I would 100% recommend buying this if you are under the belief that lossless audio is better than 90% lossless + the best noise cancellation on the market and D Atmos.

Finally Apple updated the AirPod max to be able to use this cable consistently. Used to be hit or miss if it would actually work but now works every time.
