There is so much to like about this. First, the blanket is thick, which makes it comfortable. It's a good size for two adults, but only two. Second, the bottle holder is secure and large. No public parks near me allow wine or glass bottles, so that's not a consideration, but I use a large metal Contigo with water or lemonade, and it is great for that. Third, the dishes and cutlery are kept in their own compartment, which isn't such a big deal when heading to the picnic, but when going home after they get dirty, it's a must. The cutlery, plates, and glasses are, for a picnic set, an excellent quality. At least they look nice, work well, are of an adequate size, and don't break easily. I don't ask for more than that from a picnic set. Fourth, the main compartment is big enough for two sandwiches, two bottles of iced tea, some grapes, and a sketch set. My boyfriend and I like to go to the park to sketch, so this is a common setup. If you want to bring a small board game (figure Forbidden Island not Monopoly) that will work. Fifth, it's comfortable to carry. The straps are nicely padded and easily adjustable. Sixth, it's easy to clean, even from bird poop. Hey, at least he went for us after we finished eating and he didn't hit the art supplies.

This is a beautifully designed and high-quality product overall. The backpack looks sleek and stylish, and I really love the overall aesthetic. However, the straps that hold the fold-out mat on the side were a bit disappointing. They were made with metal latches that felt flimsy and were difficult to use. I think plastic clip-in latches would have been a much better choice—they’d make it much easier to remove and reattach the mat. Aside from that, the functionality and design are impressive. If the latches become too frustrating, you might consider using a simple black ribbon or cord as an alternative for securing the mat more easily. Oh, and just an FYI, the mat does not match the backpack as it shows in the picture. Other than these minor mishaps, it works and functions the way it should.

Ok I wasn’t expecting this to be as nice as it was!! I need to learn how to properly pack food lol. I didn’t have quite enough room but I probably tried to add too much food or packed everything wrong. Nonetheless this thing is definitely worth the buy.
