The instructions were simple and straightforward. Assembly took maybe an hour. It is not the sturdiest shelf, but works for light objects like the ones I have on there.

We are not connoisseurs of fine furniture - we have dogs. Need I say more? So when we need something new, we land on the least expensive side. We are also book lovers who live in a very small house. When it came to needing a new, small bookcase, the only space we had left was in a very narrow corner behind the front door. We really didn’t think we would be able to find something that would fit, but behold! We came across this, and it’s just right. It also matches some other incidental pieces that we have recently bought that have also fit the bill of small and cheap. (Hey, why lie?) The instructions are all in pictures, but they are detailed enough to give you all the info you need to correctly assemble it. All the pieces were there, and they all went together the way they were supposed to. Easy peasy. One reviewer said it had to be anchored to the wall, but it depends. It does have an extra, footed support that screws into the front underside of the bottom shelf for greater stability. We have ours on tile, not carpet, and put the heaviest books on the bottom shelf. The bookcase is well balanced and stands sturdily in place, with no additional anchoring necessary. Is it elegant? Not exactly, but then, it isn’t made to be an heirloom. This is a nice shelf, sturdy and would be really easy to put together BUT the shelves have pre drilled holes that do not match up with the frame so I had to drill my own holes which I shouldn’t have had to do.
