I was looking for a starter telescope and this one that I just bought isn't that bad for the price. My only gripe is that the tripod is not as steady and fluid but it is what it is. I was able to calibrate it easily and tried to look at the moon the other night with great results. After I spend a good amount of time with this, I'm planning to upgrade to a more expensive one. ... show more

It's a telescope which isn't really easy to use anyways but the tripod it came with only allows for about 30° tilt which isn't great for sky viewing. The telescope itself isnt very sturdy so it's shaky no matter what but it does work well once you get it there. Overall for the price it's a good deal but spend a little extra on something better. ... show more

I had no previous experience with a telescope so I knew nothing at all about setting one up. However the spotting scope is adjustable so I started by getting a street lamp in view and then adjusting until the telescope matched. Then I received an email from the seller explaining a few things (unsolicited assistance and much appreciated) and boom! I was able to look at objects in the night sky and easily identify if they were celestial bodies or hovering aircraft, look at the moon, my son and I are now going for planets as they align with our global position. The included tripod wasn’t my favorite but I already owned a nice tripod and was able to convert it for use with the telescope.
