AOC earned my loyalty in the past with proven quality at a fraction of the cost of other manufacturers, so when I was trying to decide between a multi-monitor setup or a single ultrawide, I already knew I wanted to look at their offerings. My first choice was an AOC CU34G2X 34" and I loved it. However, for audio/video editing and other multi-app work I found I wanted even more screen room. I had to decide between getting two 34" screens and suffering with a line down the middle of the view area, a whopping three 34" screens to avoid the center line (which I don't have the desk room for), or a single bigger ultrawide. I took a chance on this AOC AGON AG493UCX and have not regretted it for a moment. Half the price of more "name-brand" models with similar or identical specs, a more comprehensive out-of-the-box warranty, and a beautiful, flawless display. Yet again, AOC has knocked it out of the park. A side note for gamers: Keep in mind that some older titles don't support ultrawide displays very well (surprisingly, some do a great job!). There are tweaks and user forums available to guide you with regard to the best graphics settings for particular games. More often than ever, newer titles support ultrawide from day one and the extra screen space is a true joy. Hard to describe how cool it is until you experience it. Another thing to keep in mind, however, is that more graphics being rendered on the screen means more load on your GPU (and CPU), so you'll want a solid video card if you're planning on playing titles at high settings with a decent frame rate. I'm still using a Geforce GTX 1080Ti (waiting until the 3xxx series gets re-stocked) and having no issues at all running several titles at full settings in 5120 x 1440.

The AGON 49" monitor is a beast. It has a beautiful picture and it was more than I could have ever hoped for and more. It takes some time to dial in the setting the way you want, but after the tuning you will be completely satisfied. I will say this is not a monitor for the average person. Web pages are extremely wide and videos are not made for this aspect ratio. It does have software to split the screen which makes web surfing easier. Please use common sense when buying this monitor. It is not average and it takes time to adjust. When I first purchased the monitor, I was overwhelmed over the size. After a month its not as big anymore and I make full use of the screen size. I compared this monitor to the Samsung and I found this monitor to be better in ever way. I hope this helps!

I really wanted to like and keep this monitor but the PBP compressed the screen (a lot) so that there were horizontal black bars above and below. AOC support is from India and they were worse than useless. I called them twice and after they couldn't figure it out, they hung up on me...twice. This coupled with the fact that USB-C only displayed 3840x1080 resolution (which horribly stretches the screen) made me return it. Ended up going with the Samsung G9.

Everything was going fine until last 4 days or so, monitor wouldn't get out of the black screen. Tried everything, from changing cables, resetting, etc. Submitted a ticket to tech support and have not had a response yet from them yet. There is no number to call, just a ticket submission. I'm hoping to get my issue resolved according to their highly touted warranty claims.

It is a very difficult thing to get everything you are looking for in a single monitor i.e. refresh rate, resolution, size, HDR, etc. This monitor is able to achieve it better then most instead of there being the best of one things it evenly balances that to all worlds, honestly it is a great monitor.
