Locals tell me it sounds just fine on low and high running off the base antenna. Good little radio for travel or for tight areas a regular radio wouldn't fit. Great value for the money. Wish it had a detachable microphone. Modulation on AM is so blasted locked down you sound like you are whispering UNLESS you remove the "Modset" resistor (little part I have standing straight up next to the big square surface mount chip in the picture). I am sure this voids the warranty! I am also sure providing this information will get all the radio police excited. Just trying to help the radio enthusiasts make this radio actually usable instead of a quiet micro sized junker!! ... show more

What can I say about a 10 meters AM / FM radio that can also be used on 11 meters (CB) ? (with solder mod) It is remarkably small and powerful. Only disadvantage is the display only provides 2 digit channels which is OK for 11 meters but in other modes the channels mean nothing. I had to write a chart to map the frequencies to channels.
