Features

  • 6.6 4K+ HD screenANYCUBIC Photon Mono 2 uses a 6.6-inch monochrome LCD screen with a resolution of 4096*2560, which can display the modelstiny details. This can fully meet the printing needs of miniature models, and is a very good choice for upgrading from FDM printers to LCD printers
  • Upgraded LighTurbo MatrixCompare with ordinary matrix light source, Anycubic LighTurbo matrix provides a more stable and uniform parallel light source, which can effectively reduce the layer lines and eliminate grid lines. Therefore, Photon Mono 2 can make the model details more vivid and the model surface delicate and smooth.
  • Larger Build VolumeThe printing volume of Photon Mono 2 is 165x143x89mm, which is larger than that of Photon Mono 4K of the same machine size. It can meet the needs of saving placement space and printing large models.
  • High Printing Success RatePhoton Mono 2 adopts laser engraved platform. It has excellent flatness, which can increase model adhesion and greatly improve printing success rate. And LCD Screen protector has also been enlarged to better protect the screen from accidents such as resin leaks and scratches.

  • Way easier than my other 3d Printer
TLDR: Highly recommend. 15 minutes of youtube videos gets you started, it's basically plug and play with great looking prints. This is my first SLA printer. I have had my FDM printer for a few years now and have gone through lots of spools of filament so far. I wasn't exactly sure if I was going to like the SLA but I have been loving it. It is a lot quieter and less obtrusive than my FDM printer. My family doesn't even know that I'm using it except for the slight smell. It is so quiet when running I have to check if it is moving. It is a lot different than FDM and requires more work on the cleaning side once it is done but doesn't need constant attention from replacing parts. Before I suggested 3d printing only for computer geeks and people who are really into tech. This printer makes me think that almost anyone could 3d print as long as they follow the instructions. After receiving the printer I was expecting hours to set it up. My other printer is an Anet A8 and took me hours to assemble, level, and get started. I sat down and watched the 3 videos for setup and running and only 15 minutes had passed. It was a breeze to set up. You only have to level the bed and that is it for set up. (Make sure you do that well or you will have failed prints). Before printing anything else I printed the test print. Most of it looked great but I hadn't leveled well enough and that was total user error. Once set up correctly the prints look amazing. The green filament that came with it worked well and I haven't had any complaints about the resin. The software is easy to use once you watch a couple of the videos. The problems I had were all understanding the differences between different types of 3d printing. Hollowing out parts, adding drain holes, and adding supports were the main issues. The software does all this but you do have to learn where to put things. Once you know the terms it is so easy to download and set up a print. It is nice that the software comes from the same company that makes the printer so default settings are there that should work and requires less fiddling than if you have to use software from another company. The build of the machine internals seem very sturdy. The metal parts and connections are solid. I really like the ball joint that is used to hold the build plate and how easy it is to adjust it to be level. If you get this machine you won't understand the pain of leveling a heated bed on a "regular" 3d printer. The housing does feel a little more flexible than I would like but it isn't too much of an issue as it is not structural. My favorite part about this printer over my FDM printer is not having to worry about it burning my house down. There aren't any parts heating up to 200 degrees C to melt plastic so there isn't the heat to worry about. It does have a slight odor to the resin but the box and filters seem to do a pretty good job keeping that inside the machine. I was not expecting the extra stuff that I needed to have on hand and was rushing to find stuff once I was printing. Make sure to have plenty of alcohol, paper towels and a couple tubs to clean in. After you get done cleaning make sure you can cure the resin as well. The company has a neat looking product for this but I haven't purchased it yet. In conclusion, I would suggest this printer to anyone who wants to get into 3d printing but doesn't want to need a mechanical engineering degree with a minor in programming. This product was so much easier to set up and use than I thought could be possible with a 3d printer. The convivence of this machine is amazing, it is quiet, safe and sturdy. Prints are easy to start. Calibrations for your z axis take only a minute or 2. And finally the prints look amazing with so much detail. ... show more

  • well-built, easy to use, great value and an overall good system
Size: Mono 2
i was nervous about diving into the world of 3d printing because it seemed complicated and beyond my ability. of course, there are things to learn, but this system made it incredibly easy. i watched a simple video to figure out how to use the slicer program. let me tell you, you don't have to be a genius to operate it. it's very simple and reliable. as for the printing equipment, i can't say enough nice things. the steps for set up and operation are simple and easy to understand. it prints exactly as programmed with a high success rate, and the equipment feels well-made and sturdy. best of all, there's always a good deal on this from the seller. if i actually had the need to, i'd buy another one, just because it's such a good deal. they make higher tier printers, but this one suits me absolutely fine and it made me not only happy about my purchase, but happy that i'm now comfortably into the world of 3d printing ... show more

  • An Amazing Printer for the Price
The Anycubic Photon S is an impressive printer for the price. I have extensive experience with FDM (aka rigid filament) printers and the major limitation of FDM technology is its inability to print smaller delicate parts. However, for resin (mSLA in this case) printers, this task is achievable. These mechanically simple wonders can print to almost injection molded surface finish with great resolution. Let's talk pros and cons. Pros: Amazing print quality Competitive price Reasonably simple to use Dual Z-axis gantry Much quieter than the Photon Cons: Plastic outer casing (as apposed to the metal casing on the Photon) Replacement LCD's are not cheap (around $50) Small build volume (but I use it primarily to print small things my FDM printer can't so this doesn’t really affect me) I own both a Photon S and a Photon. So, for those trying to decide which to buy, here are some facts as well as my thoughts about the two. Build Quality: Photon S: For those of you worried about the possibility of the Z-axis track loosening up, the Photon S is what you’ll want. It has a much quieter movement than the Photon also. Unfortunately, Anycubic decided to do away with the metal casing with this iteration. It is now plastic. But, as stated earlier, this doesn’t actually make the frame more or less rigid or affect the print quality. Photon: The metal casing makes the printer feel premium, however, it doesn't enhance the print quality because the Z-axis tower mounts straight to the LCD bracket. I have heard (but haven't experienced) that the single Z-axis track can wear out and loosen over time. I have used it for probably 20+ hours of printing and it is still rigid so this may or may not be true. Print Quality: The print quality of both printers is practically identical. They use the same LCD, stepper motor and frame design. However, the Photon S has an upgraded motherboard so it might be capable of more with future firmware upgrades. (The white lattice structure was printed on the Photon and the green on the Photon S) Accessories: Both printers come with identical tool sets and power supplies. However, the Photon S also includes 500mL of that beautiful green resin while the old Photon doesn’t include any resin. In conclusion, this printer is quite impressive for its price. However, after using both the Photon S and original Photon, I would recommend that you buy the Photon. The Photon S, even with the dual Z-axis and upgraded motherboard, isn’t worth twice the price. But this is just my humble opinion and I encourage you to do your own digging. I’ll leave you with one last comparison, in the last picture, the white lattice tree was printed on a Photon while the grey tree was printed on a $2,000 Formlabs Form2 SLA printer (which uses a UV laser instead of an LCD). As you can see, the Form2 is definitely cleaner and more precise but at less then 1/8th the price, the Photon held its own. I hope you found this review helpful. If you did then a click on the “Helpful” button would be much appreciated. P.S. Anycubic tech support is some of the best I've ever dealt with. ... show more
