    • Great 3D Printing at a Reasonable Price

This is my first 3D printer but what an impressive machine! To start, the machine was probably was of the most thoughtfully packaged items I have ever ordered through Amazon. The foam block packaging made certain there would be nothing broken or damaged inside. Setup was reasonably easy though it's better to look at the included documentation on a larger computer screen as far as the wiring connections are concerned. Still, the instructions are adequate and well thought out. I bought several different colors of filament and have so far made 6 projects ranging from something simple to complex in multiple pieces. Besides what you can find on the Anycubic website, which is very helpful, I have downloaded many projects from a website called Cults3D.com. While the name might sound a little gothic there are mostly excellent projects which are not gothic but very artistic and practical. The project files in .stl format must then be "sliced" using slicing software. The most popular free software I downloaded is Ultimaker Cura 5.2.2 which is very easy to use and provides you with the conversion from .stl to Gcode files that the printer uses which can then be transferred to the included microSD card and printed. Operation and print quality with the Kobra 2 Plus are very impressive to say the least. Operation is both smooth and quiet. Be sure to run the auto leveling and Z axis adjustments before printing. The only frustrating thing I ran into was that there's no mention of the USB C connector in the documentation which would be very helpful as, with a firmware update from Anycubic, the USB C connector can be used for direct connection to your computer using Repetier-Host software which is also free to download. THIS RIG WORKS GREAT! I AM NOT VERY GOOD WITH COMPUTERS SO I WAS A BIT WORRIED, BUT HAS BEEN GREAT FOR LITTLE GIFTS AND ARTS/CRAFTS TIME WITH THE FAMILY! THE ANYCUBIC FILAMENT IS GREAT AS WELL!

Got this for black friday, setup was simple and prints worked fine without much tweaking. The huge print volume is great for the price! Was able to print this mask successfully first try without a print failure! Slow print time, but for how much build volume you get and how cheap it is I think its a fair tradeoff as long as you can afford to wait. If you want to get very precise prints for small mechanical parts etc you will need to manually tweak the settings yourself, but it is possible. ———————————————————— after about 100 printing hours the printer had an error and wouldnt work even after a replacement printhead from customer support, i will be returning this as i do not want to spend more time troubleshooting and trying to fix it sorry! ... show more

    • Motherboard problems

Immediately after setting up the printer, I attempted to run the auto-levelling function (per the instructions). Print head went to homing position and system rebooted. Attempted it again, and it rebooted again. I did this 6 or 7 times. Rebooted every time. I then attempted to pre-heat the head. Reboots. Multiple attempts, multiple reboots. It is quite infuriating. I cannot even load filament, because no matter what button is pressed, and no matter what sequence is initiated, the system reboots. Before anyone asks: I confirmed that all plugs were in their appropriate ports, confirmed that the voltage selector in the back was at the accurate voltage, and conducted the system setup in accordance with the (very poor) instructions. I have 2 other printers (Ender and Monoprice) that never gave me any problems. I anticipate that the issue is with the control board (system board), and that Anycubic support is going to issue me a new board (based on other reviews and posts about this problem) however I do not like that the first thing that I need to do with a printer is fix it. I am temped to return it and get a different unit from a better provider. I have submitted a support request to Anycubic, so we will see if they are helpful or not. I am not holding my breath.. I immediately regretted this purchase. It is making my blood boil. I loved the pricepoint and print size of this printer, however I cannot print anything, so it is a useless pile of junk currently. I did some research and discovered that this is a very common problem (see reddit or youtube), so shame on me for thinking that I would get a working unit. I have had much better success out of the Ender and the Monoprice for years, so I would recommend that you avoid Anycubic at all costs. ... show more

Set up took less than 30 minutes and the demo print came out perfectly!!! I was expecting the worse since this was my first 3D printer but I was pleasantly surprised and the ease and build quality of this printer. Would highly recommend!!! :-)
