  • Excellent
Style: Regular Size: 2.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I have been using this brand, Anthony’s, for quite a while now. I use some of his other products also. I find his Erythritol to be fresh and have a good flavor.

  • Works great for baking
Style: Regular Size: 2.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
This alternative sweetener works great for baking. I am currently on a keto-ish diet with ZERO sugar (still have a bit of carbs but try to really limit myself). With thanksgiving & the holidays coming up I was sort of sad I wasn't going to be able to bake like I normally do so started looking for Keto-friendly recipes for my favorite desserts. During my research I came across Erythritol Sweetener and after a bit more research began to wonder why in the heck this isn't being used instead of sugar for EVERYTHING! By every food maker everywhere! It is a simply derived sweetener that has 0 impact on the body - basically we cannot absorb it so we eliminate it via urine (simply put - we pee it out). I am a medical professional (XRay Tech) and looked up some actual medical journal articles and talked to a couple physicians that I work with to make sure I was interpreting the available info correctly. I was. Kind of shocking but this stuff tastes almost as sweet as sugar with ZERO effect in the body. It works in baking recipes the same as sugar - I used powered Erythritol to make whipped cream and mousses, granulated Erythritol in cookies, cupcakes, breads and pie crusts all with great result. It is not quite as sweet as sugar but that's OK with me - I do not need my desserts to taste overly sugary anyways. I also use Almond flour vs. normal flour and it works really good too - there are a few extra steps needed to bake with almond flour but the result is a sugar & gluten free very tasty healthier alternative. My kids cannot tell the difference in the cookie or cupcakes & I do not feel guilty having some of my favorite holiday treats. ... show more

So happy to discover this brand. It doesn't leave the nasty taste in your mouth. I can enjoy sweets without the carbs and nasty tastes!

  • Less sweet than sugar and leaves cold sensation in mouth
Style: Regular Size: 2.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I’m going to preface this review with that fact that prior to this purchase I had never had Erythritol so I can’t compare this product to others. I don’t use sugar for very much, really only my coffee so I figured this would be a good way for me to cut down on my sugar intake and use in my coffee. Like you probably have read erythritol is less sweet than sugar, about 75% as sweet seems fairly accurate to me. This is definitely true, so to achieve the same level of sweetness you need to use more of the product. One thing that I didn’t know until trying is that erythritol since it is a sugar alcohol, once dissolved leaves a slightly cold feeling in your mouth. Almost like menthol. It doesn’t taste minty at all just leaves a “cold” feeling in your mouth, even in hot coffee. I explained this to my friend before she tried it and she agreed. I imagine it may be different in baking or maybe just cooking but that is the sensation for using in a liquid like coffee or teas. On another note since you will be compelled to use more erythritol than sugar to maintain sweetness you may encounter one of the side effects of erythritol which can essentially affect your body the same ways a laxative would. So be cautious how much you are using. There is no real “overdose” that I could find but trying something different can always affect you in ways you don’t think and this is one that I would not have thought. Overall I think I’ll try using it for baking because I’m not a huge fan of it just dissolved in liquids. I have returned to my raw sugar. ... show more

  • Glycemic index is 0. No bad aftertaste
Style: Regular Size: 2.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I use this instead of sugar or other sweeteners. Natural or artificial. This is a sugar alcohol. No glycemic index. Your body does not recognize it as sugar and cannot process it. It is just excreted out. It is about 70% as sweet as sugar. It has a cool feeling on your tongue. No aftertaste like other types of natural and artificial sweeteners which I really dislike. Perfect for people with blood sugar issues. More expensive but very preferable to me than bad taste or going without any sweeteners. ... show more

  • Great! But...
Style: Organic Size: 2.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
This product tastes great. Just like sugar, no weird aftertaste like other sugar alternatives. It also, however, gave me the s***s beyond my wildest dreams. I had heard all about this miracle sugar, did the research, the whole nine yards. I even read the warnings about possible gastro intestinal distress, but thought little of them. I felt I was invincible, and was SO excited to try it, I immediately made a glass of lemonade with this rather than typical cane sugar. And then another. And one more. Three glasses of lemonade without the guilt! Great! Or so I thought. Little did I know, my demise would be imminent. It took less than 45 minutes to feel the wrath of my mistake. I literally took a laxative twice a day for a week straight and didn’t get results this impressive. I won’t go into grueling detail, but seriously. Don’t overdo this stuff or you WILL be chained to your toilet. For that, I have to knock off a star but overall I’d buy this again. ... show more

  • I LOVE this stuff!
Style: Regular Size: 2.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
Been using this daily for almost a year in my coffee & cooking. It tastes exactly like sugar to me. I detect no aftertaste. I consume about 2 bags/month. I know some people complain it leads to the runs but not for me. No more than coffee ever did before, at any rate. I find Anthony's price better than others once you compare the size. It's natural, so why not try it out? ... show more
