Washed and dried on low for just a few minutes, maybe 8-10, then hung to finish drying to prevent shrinking. They came out a little stiff but will soften with several washes. CUTE on! Planning to wear with cute graphic tees or plain to run errands in, lounge or just grab a tea out! The flair on the legs is a nice proportion to my frame. I got Small in this wonderful green and a very happy red gingham too. I’m 5’4” 102 lbs and have no butt and skinny legs and the fit is comfy after washing and not drying at high temps. If you plan to dry yours completely, definitely size up. The fabric is good quality gingham that’s a thicker grade material. Cotton like this will shrink!!! I absolutely love the shorts. I only rated it a four because when I tried them on they fit perfectly and then I washed and dry them and they shake a little bit. They still fit me but not perfectly. Maybe they would have been still OK but I have some loose skin around my tummy after giving birth and you can kinda see it and it makes me a little self-conscious, but it does fit. I can still stretch around with them. I think I’m just gonna buy something that’ll help smooth that area down so it’s not that bad. I don’t know if you should order a size up because like I said it only shrink a tiny bit so probably. If you’re gonna wash them. Don’t put them in the dryer. ... show more

Love, love, love! I practically live in the shorts. I’ve ordered 2 pair worth ruffles and one pair without. If you decide to purchase the one without ruffles I would size up for a roomier fit. I have been everywhere in these. From the hospital to church. lol They do not shrink and are color fast. They are fairly soft but sooooo lightweight. Just what is needed for hot summers down south. I read so many reviews of people wearing these shorts out in public before purchasing and I thought they would be the perfect answer to cute lightweight shorts to wear to Disney World, but I must be old-school or something because I would never wear these out in public. They definitely have the look and feel of lounge shorts, and they are super thin material so you’ll have to wear lighter-colored undies. I ordered a medium based on the size chart and it just feels like there’s excess fabric through the crotch area and the legs have oddly wide openings. I do like the pockets, the striped fabric with the bottom ruffle, and length of them because they cover up my chunky cellulite thighs…but not the look I had in mind after seeing them on myself. Very comfortable, breathable, cooling and the quality is great. Does not feel like cheap material. Washes well and decided to flat air dry just in case for shrinkage. Did not notice any. LOVE these shorts. They’re so cute and comfy. The material is great, It’s light and breathable not cheap at all. Very versatile you could wear them around the house or you can wear them out, I took the idea from another reviewer who rolled them up at the waist band and it worked great.
