I was nervous about purchasing one of these bags because of the reviews stating that the purses were counterfeit. The prices for the Safari Gray Rose color ranged from $137 to $230. I decided to go with the seller who had the highest rating, who was selling the purse for $147. The next day, I decided to buy this purse through the Anuschka website for $230 to ensure that I was getting the real deal. However, I was not able to cancel my order that was placed on Amazon, so I ended up with the questionable purse. The Anuschka website lists several features to authentic purses: —Leather is soft, supple and feels luxurious. (I think so, but not sure. I don’t normally buy leather.) —There will be a leather tag stitched to the lining of the bag with the Anuschka logo. (There is a leather tag, but I’m not sure if it’s the right logo.) —The lining will have the Anuschka logo woven into it. (There’s nothing woven into the lining.) —The quality of art is a great way to tell if the product is genuine. The colors should be rich and vibrant, reflecting the passion behind the art. (Yes, artwork is beautiful and vibrant) —Each original Anuschka is hand signed by a member of the family. (I only see a template signature for “Anna” - not sure if that is what they mean.) —Authentic bags come with branded YKK sliders and a dust bag. (Hardware doesn’t have any brand markings. Not sure if the beige mesh dust bag is authentic.) If this purse is a counterfeit, it is a very nice one. The side that I believe is supposed to be the front has two pockets: one zippered 7.5” W x 5.75” H, one open 3.5” W x 6” H. The open pocket is too high for a cell phone. I’m not sure what it is meant for, but a small umbrella can be squeezed into that pocket. Both sides of the purse have open pockets that are 7” W x 7.75” H. They fit a 16 oz coffee thermos quite nicely! The back of the purse is more beautiful than the front. It has two roses and a butterfly painted on. I may decide to wear the purse with that side out. Why couldn’t they just make one side plain so it’s easy to figure out which way to wear the purse? I don’t want to hide any of it! The inside has two open pockets on one side, and a zippered pocket and open pocket on the other side. The two open pockets are 4.25” H. They are 4.5” & 2.5” W. The zippered pocket is 7.5” W x 5.5” H. The third open pocket sits slightly below the zippered one. It runs the length of the purse, which is 11”, and is 4.75” H. This purse is much larger than I expected. But it’s better to be too big than too small. The Anuschka website recommends that their leather protector be used regularly to preserve the artwork. I made sure to apply two coats of the stuff before using the purse. So far, I am happy with this purchase. I will have to update my review after I’ve been using this purse for awhile to say how it’s held up. ... show more

I absolutely love this purse, although I love all of her articles. This pattern was just beautiful. I had to return the purse though, because it was just too big to use as a purse. I purchased a matching wallet and return that since I could not find a smaller purse in that . Please, if you have never purchased an item from Anushka don’t be made too. I've received many compliments on this purse, due to its unique beauty. It is far more lovely in person than in the product picture. The purse I received is authentic, and comes with a few accessory pouches, as well as the branded tag and storage pouch for the purse. The purse is quite large, and is true to the size described on the product page- lots of storage. My only complaint is the painted finish is already showing signs of wear after only one month of use. I have owned a few Anuschka purses and they usually do not show signs of wear this quickly. After seeing other various reviews, the paint wearing quickly seems to be a common problem now, so I'm guessing the manufacturer is not sealing the finish properly at production. I've bought some Anuschka leather protectant for my latest purses in hopes it will help preserve them longer- so far so good. Overall, I recommend this brand of purses for its unique style, quality leather, and the ample storage. If you do purchase on of these, make sure to buy the leather protector or some other type of paint safe sealant for it, so the finish doesn't wear too quickly. ... show more

I will preface the review by saying I have been obsessed with Anna bags lately, so the comparison is against other hand-painted, unique, gorgeous bags. The design is pretty, the color is deep, which makes the beauty more subtle. It is definitely much prettier than a "normal" bag, but it is simpler than say the floral garden or butterfly garden designs. If you are looking for a statement piece, this may not be the design for you. One more thing to note is that his bag is big! I would say it is travel size, not every day use size. ... show more

Hi so I absolutely loved this purse beautifully hand painted so pretty. I have had it for a little over a month and paid over 160 dollars for it then an extra 20 for the protection spray. I sprayed I dried sprayed 1 more time dried and the paint is just disappearing I am very disappointed and I would not recommended getting a hand painted purse waste of money! ... show more

I have had this same purse that lasted me 4 or 5 years I used it as everyday.I see some of the complaints. First did you weather proof it ? It says in direction I did mine 3 times before I used it.Second this is a genuine and the real thing looks like they changed color of lining but if you look on their web page it is correct so please people don’t give bad reviews unless you know 100 percent I still have my old one and to get this beauty at 54 percent savings put the biggest smile on my face I love all the pockets missed this purse my other one was still okay but after 5 years there is some wears.Now I will come back on and review it’s longtivity but very pleased ... show more

This bag is beautiful! It is well made, the leather is supple, and the hand painting is amazing! As well, the bag is bigger than I thought it would be, and it has lots of pockets around the inside walls, as well as pockets outside. The main part is roomy enough that I will be able to use it for many things, and the shoulder strap adjusts for almost any size you may need.
