  • A great portable charger - pay attention to your charging needs before buying
I love anker products, I've bought several power banks, wall adapters and cables from them before. I also use multiple devices that are PD/fast charge compatible. This power bank replaced an older quick charge one when I got an iPad 7th gen, purely for the ability to swap cables and adapters between my phone (Galaxy s10+), Bluetooth earbuds, Nintendo Switch, and the iPad. With that said, if you don't know what your power needs are you might have issues. I get it, USB C PD and all your different proprietary fast charge technologies are confusing. Hopefully I can help someone by explaining some things Anker hides in the small print. This charger uses the USB C PD port for both input and output. To charge this power bank at full speed, you must have a USB C PD wall adapter rated for at least 18w, which it does not come with, and a lot of first party phone manufacturers don't supply power adapters that meets this requirement so you must buy one. Anker's new Power IQ 3.0 technology works flawlessly, but most PD chargers will work. And even then it takes a long time, as the capacity is large (most flagship phones hover around 4,000mAh battery capacity, this charger is 20,000mAh). Anker supplies a cable, but any cable you use must be rated for that wattage as well. When I've fully drained the battery I plug it in overnight and its fully charged by morning. I've never had issues with it charging unless it was human error, or a cat batting at things that aren't his. As far as charging other devices are concerned, PD chargers are not always compatible with proprietary fast charging protocols (just about every phone manufacturer has their own, though most are compatible with Qualcomm fast charge chips) but I'm glad Anker's does in my case. My previous Anker bank couldn't charge my bluetooth earbuds but this one does if I ever need it. Be wary of the devices you want to charge on it, I checked for a review specifically for a Samsung fast charge compatible phone before I bought it. My mom has an iPhone 11 and it is also compatible. I can't speak for any other devices. Also, this isn't powerful enough to charge laptops or an iPad pro, the output isn't high enough for those powerful devices. You'll likely experience slower discharge but thats not healthy on the battery. You're much better off plugging into a wall with a correctly rated adapter or buying a huge battery bank with a large output rating, likely one that includes regular wall plugs on it. Check your original power adapters for wattage information on your devices or Google search it. Anker has great customer service so don't be afraid to get a hold of them as they will rectify your situation. Now as for hands on usage: I use this thing all the time. I dont like to be tethered to a wall while my phone is charging and I also have a really bad habit of falling asleep while reading or watching videos and forgetting to plug in, leaving me with an almost dead phone by morning. Having a power bank solves those issues. I can easily take my bank with me to work and it fits in my crossbody bag. Granted my bag was handmade for me by my aunt but I digress. We also had a hurricane take out our power for three days recently and my bank went dead the morning we got power back. It charged my phone (again, a Galaxy s10+) fully three times and I got a partial charge on the iPad (7th gen 9.7") on the last day. Which does not match the rated mAh on the bank, but it had been 3 days and you will have some discharge while not in use. Its close enough that its really not a concern. The only issue I have on the regular is sometimes the PD port will just stop fast charging my phone during charging. I have to fiddle with the cord to get it to start fast charging again, typically flipping the cord ends between the phone and the bank fixes the issue. Sometimes just unplugging and replugging from the bank fixes it. I've used two different cords for phone charging so it can't be the cord and this issue doesn't happen with my wall adapter straight to the phone. Though I am using a third party hard-shell case for the bank since I am really clumsy and never take it out, so it may be the port is a little worn from the cord being forced ever so slightly upwards while plugged in. It works well enough for now considering its likely my fault. If you use multiple fast charge devices or just dont like to be tethered to a wall this is a great buy for the price as long as you're paying attention to how much power your devices and your wall adapters draw and adjust to use the bank to its fullest potential, as are most Anker products. ... show more

  • Wonderful battery pack, gotta clear up some confusion!
I was incredibly confused on how the fast charging worked on this charger so let me clear it up now. This battery pack is optimized to work with USB C specific items, that means that both ends of the cord are USB C. If you have a Pixel or Samsung / other Android phone / a Nintendo Switch, then this unit will be ideal for you. Now, if you have a USB A to USB C / USB A / micro USB / lightning type of cord, it will still work, but it won't charge as quickly. That means if you have an iPhone or any other device that doesn't have a native USB C port, you won't be able to utilize the full potential of this battery pack. Clear as mud right? Now here's the deal with the way to charge the pack, you NEED a wall plug in that uses a USB C type of input. So, if you have a Pixel phone, congrats, you've got the right type of wall plug in! If not, then you do need to purchase a different type of wall plug in that has a USB C input. Everyone still on the same page? Ok, on to the performance! This pack is a beast in every sense of the word. It charges incredibly quickly, and you can use it upwards for at least a week before needing to charge it back up. It takes about 4-5 hours to fully charge back up and it's small enough that it fits into one of my backpack pockets. To put it in perspective, I could play my nintendo switch on high brightness while it was plugged into the battery pack and it still charged it up. I've even got third party controllers on my switch, which takes up more energy and it still charged it up! This is a very specialized type of battery pack that is built for folks who use USB C cables. If you're not a native Android user, it's probably a good idea to look elsewhere. Otherwise, this was a great deal and it really helps keep me and my wife charged while on the go and it's been significantly less stressful to know that I won't be left floundering with a dead phone. Hope this helps clarify some things for folks! ... show more

  • Anker is good
TL:DR - Anker is kind of a fantastic brand. You get exactly what's promised and the quality of their products is super. Reading the reviews I find that a lot of people complain about slow charge time or about it not appearantly the capacity it states. I haven't had this issues with my battery. I took some time to see how many times I could charge my phone and it fell just about on the mark. It wasn't done with proper instruments. I simply let my phone with a 5,000 mAh battery get close to 2% and the I would charge it all the way up. I got about 4 full charges until the battery stopped charging my phone. Ended at 93% which to me already is on the money but even still, there was a night I just left my phone charging as I slept so it definitely got more than it's fill. There's also complaints about charging the battery itself and again, I didn't find this problem with mine. I timed how long it took to fully charge and it was actually a bit shorter than the stated time. Just about 5:30 hours. I didn't even need an anker branded charger. I used this 18W charger I used already to charge my phone. People might be forgetting just how massive 20,000 mAh is. Charging my phone was also just as expected. It charged it fully just as if it was plugged to the 18W charger which is to be expected but you know... I kind of still didn't cause it's a portable battery. Overall, Anker is kind of my go to for when it comes to electrical devices. I don't see them cutting corners to get there products out and for that I trust their brand. I feel like my devices won't suddenly burn out cause of bad components or that the hubs won't provided the performance promised. Idk, you should definitely give then a try ... show more
