I would not buy these if I was planning on taking long hikes, as they could be a bit more comfortable inside, BUT, I had a planned trip to CO and needed something warm as I'd be out in the snow and acting as "ski mom" hiking around the slopes getting pictures. In all, I may have walked 2-3 miles a day, easily, but not all at once. I walked in both powder and slush, and I did not spray any sealer on the shoes. My feet never got wet, and never froze, though there were a couple of times they wouldn't be what I call warm either, but never bad. The only really annoying issue I had was that some times, the shoe would rub or squeeze (it's hard to describe) around my ankle and it would hurt. I bought these boots when they were somehow on sale for $30 a pair. Just WOW! So I bought a few. The first pair I got soaked - absolutely saturated - and they fell apart. The next pairs I have not allowed to get wet and they have lasted me so so long. I walk A LOT. These boots have stood up so well. They have outlasted maybe any other shoes I've ever had. They are super cute, comfortable, and sturdy. Even at the normal price they are a good buy. Just don't get them wet. ... show more

These boots are great! I have read that these don't keep your feet warm and then others say they do but these DO keep my feet warm! I love that they are a little roomy even for my wide feet! Leaves some extra space for thick socks when it's really cold out or you're playing in the snow! The only downfall is that I wish these had a zipper on the side! I am someone that doesn't really like to untie and tie my shoes over and over. I'd much rather pull them on. So since I don't untie them, trying to pull them on is almost like a workout lol. Since I do have one foot bigger than the other, I always notice when my shoes aren't tied just right and it can take forever to get it just right and so that's why I don't like tying shoes very much lol. I purchased these boots to use for every day wear during winter in Maine. I need boots that are both water resistant and warm, and these hit both marks. I was a bit skeptical of the heel at first but these are actually extremely comfortable boots and you don't really notice the heel when walking. These are fake fur lined and keep my feet quite warm. They were a tiny bit too big for me but I don't mind, as I can double up on socks to make up the difference. The laces are a bit odd, especially at the top of the boots the two top rings for laces seem somewhat useless, no matter how tight I try to pull the laces, the top of the boot never really tightens up. It leaves a bit of a gap around my ankle that allows snow to get in over the top of the boot. This is my only complaint about these! I definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a decent but not super heavy boot for the winter. ... show more

I got the Winter Black, size 9. The fit was just right for the left foot, slightly more narrow in the toe box for the right foot (the added insole raised my foot a tiny bit to the wider part). I had to wrap my little toe in a bandaid to keep it cushioned. I wore these with compression socks and memory foam insoles and walked a few miles all over Zurich in 40-50 degree weather, and one day up in Schilthorn at about 30 degrees. The boots overall were comfy for moderate hiking and walking, but you do feel every rock underfoot. I knew we'd be around water and snow so I waterproofed the boots with two coats. My feet stayed comfortable, warm and dry! Advice for more serious hiking: Go a size up and add a thick sport insole. ... show more
