A versatile SD reader in a nice metal case. Pros: - Ability to read SD and uSD cards in a variety of devices via USB-A, USB-C, and micro USB - Additional USB-A jack Cons: - The one I received was slow, marginally better than USB-2 (more below) - The one I received would not see both cards when an SD and uSD were both inserted - It has been over a week since the seller was contacted through Amazon, with no reply The speed was tested to multiple systems, both the USB-A and USB-C plugs were tested, as well as fast SDXC and microSDXC cards. Read speed maxed out at 21MB/s and write at 27MB/s, in all configurations with all cards. By comparison, the USB-2 reader I was looking to replace gets a solid 17MB/s on read and write. Note that the cards were also tested with another reader at over 3X the speeds seen with this reader. Note also that a fast USB-3 flash drive plugged into the jack performed at full speed, so the speed problem seems limited to the SD circuitry. This was bought to provide a much faster replacement for my old USB-2 reader, and it failed at that, yielding 1 star.

I bought this device because the $2K Lenovo laptop did not have an ethernet port. I already had a dongle to connect my ethernet cable to my PC and it works perfectly. However, that left me still with only 2 USB ports. One is needed for the cooling device required to keep the Lenovo from burning up. The other is used for the dongle for my mouse leaving me with no way to connect my external drive - or nothing else. This device would not even connect the ethernet cable to the USB-C port. Only one of the other ports on the piece of junk worked. I am really tired of getting stuff from China that doesn't work. Amazon needs to start doing some quality control on their vendors.

Tried numerous times to get it to read two SD cards at the same time, using several different SD cards, and could not get it to work. It will read one or the other, but not both at the same time. The only reason I bought this was b/c it claimed to read both slots at the same time. Also, it will not read the USB port at the same time as the SD slot(s). It's one slot/port at a time.

Everything else on this works fine (did not test the card reader) but the Ethernet is only 10/100 which is absolutely worthless. On top of that it had pretty consistent 6-8% packet loss.

The device was put into the case/chassis backward, so none of the ports are usable. What you see in the pic is the USB port which is not usable.
