If the style of these drinking glasses appeal to you, then I would definitely recommend purchasing them. These are very thick walled and durable, but a bit heavier than average glasses. I'm still on my first set that I purchased over 6 years ago from a retailer and they are really holding up well. I came across this set and decided to purchase them for later use or to give as a gift. Unfortunately, when they arrived, there were a few damaged. I don't believe this was Amazon's fault, but rather the mishandling of the carrier. Amazon made things right. ... show more

Love these are made in the USA and are thick. Had a rough go where the first delivery was poorly packaged (no fault of the manufacturer) by amazon and the glasses were shattered during transit. They essentially took the manufacturer's box of glasses and put them in a bigger amazon box with barely any bubble packs to keep it from bouncing around, and no fragile warning on the outer box. Second delivery was handled better and no glasses broke. Very pleased with the quality of these glasses even though some have minor flaws (bubbles, indentations) from whatever process they use to make them. ... show more

I didn't read the reviews before buying the Anniston set of drinking glasses. I just liked the design and though that I could rely on the Anchor Hocking brand. I quickly received them, and none of them were damaged in shipping. I had a defect in the design where shards of sharp glass were stuck on the inside of the glasses all the way at the bottom of them. So, if I were try to wash them by hand, I would have been cut for sure. So, I went through the return process and took a chance at getting replacements. This second set (same Anniston design) was perfect with no defects. The quality issues that others stated with the lines not being even on the bottom of the glass were present in some of mine. But, it doesn't bother me at this price point. I would recommend them as they are a nice design, they hold the right amount of liquid in both glass sizes that come in this set, they are easy to hold, they are easy to wash. ... show more

While I personally am not fond of the heavy drinking glass, it is handier to be able to toss them in the dishwasher than worry if a cheap plastic cup is going to melt. I've had a few crack after being placed on the bottom washing rack, but since they've all been on the top, they've held up nicely.
