The texture on this toy as also amazing, because the silicone is soft, the texture isn't too rough. Being that it's made of silicone, it doesn't smell and won't hold a smell so long as you cletit thoroughly after use. I have been curious about these for about two years. Even if you get this for novelty only, I can say it’s so worth it!! I am beyond impressed and amused with this. I took out my UV/Blacklight flashlight to charge the glow fast. I was highly impressed with the material quality, the color and glow. It’s fun to just fidget with honestly. The little suckers are fun to pop and make suction to your thumb. If a person were to use this for its intended purpose, I can see how it would be fun externally play, along with internal. It is firm but also soft in the best of ways- in my opinion. It has flexibility and some amount of softness that is closer to the real thing when it comes to human anatomy. Sure the real thing ain’t this flexible but still. It’s one of the better materials I’ve seen used in these models. For the price, I feel I got my money’s worth and it’s a good value. I love it and with time I’m most likely going to add the other colors to my collection. I like it that much! My only gripe is that it does collect lint/hair/fur easily - Though this also adds to the suction ability of both the base and the tiny cups in the texture on the entire tentacle. The suction is quite impressive, I put it on a regular wall and leaned back holding it and let it support me. Therefore the only flaw isn’t without its usefulness. I’d say that it’s fine as long as you don’t play with it the way I did before you use it for internal purposes. Wash it off any lint, then use it. Which we should do with any device before use. There is no bad smell or chemical odor to this toy. The weight is good in that it wouldn’t give your arm or hands fatigue if you were holding it but it also feels substantial in a good way.
