Description

The SM-4NTP is a heavy-duty, highly-flexible microscope designed for biological and industrial applications. This model is especially popular in the QC, repair and engraving industries thanks to its ease-of-use and reliability. This model features a zoom-lock to maintain consistent magnification when needed, and uses focusable eyepieces rather than integrated dioptric adjusters. With its wide zoom range and double-arm boom-stand, this model will become an indispensable instrument in any workshop or lab. The trinocular photo-port is simul-focal, so it can be used simultaneously with both eyepieces.OpticsThe stereo optics provide clear, sharp images with excellent focus-depth and a large working-distance. With 0.7X-4.5X zoom objectives, moving through the magnification range is as easy as turning a knob. A zoom-lock allows the objectives to be set to a consistent magnification when needed. 10X wide-field eyepieces provide an ample magnification range from 7X to 45X, with high-eyepoint optics to accommodate glasses or goggles.Ocular AdjustmentThe ocular tubes are not equipped with dioptric adjusters, so focus is more consistent. Focusable eyepieces are included to compensate for vision irregularities, and are available in various optional magnifications. Rotating interpupillary adjusters simplify the process of aligning the eyepieces for each user.Simul-focal Trinocular PortThe simul-focal optics in this microscope allow the trinocular port to be used simultaneously with both eyepieces. This means a camera can stream live images from the microscope while you continue to work with full stereoscopic vision. This is accomplished by sharing the left objective lens with the left ocular and the photo-port. This microscope uses our CX series trinocular port, so it can be easily replaced with optional C-mount ports to match specific cameras.Double-arm Boom-StandThe multi-pivoting, double-arm stand provides a stable, flexible support system, ideal for hands-on work. Use of a drop-down column allows the head to be positioned at virtually any angle. Ball-bearing provide smooth movement of the lateral arms, which can easily pivot the microscope out of the way when it is not needed. The heavy, steel base ensures the stability of the microscope, even when laden with attachments. This package includes a 144-LED ring-light for bright and cool illumination. This lightweight illuminator mounts to the microscope’s objective housing, and projects a smooth, encompassing field of light over objects, eliminating most shadows. For added convenience, a separate power-controller is used to manage the brightness. Whether used as the sole light-source or in combination with additional illuminators, the ring-light produces a crucial light pattern for virtually any application. Energy-efficient and producing low heat, this ring- light can be used with biological specimens as well as industrial.Specifications Microscope Head Head Type Simul-focal trinocular, 45° incline, 360° rotatable Optical System Greenough stereoscopic Interpupillary Adjustment Compensation-free gemel, 54-75mm Ocular-port Diameter 30mm Dioptric Adjustment none (use focusable eyepieces) Eyepieces 10X Photo Port height-adjustable 23mm tube, CX series, simul-focal Objective Lenses 0.7X-4.5X lockable zoom Native Field-of-View 4.4mm-28.6mm Native Working Distance 100mm Auxiliary Lens Mount 48mm thread Auxiliary (Barlow) Lenses Included 48mm thread: none included Stand Stand Type Double-arm boom- stand with ball-bearing movement, cast-steel base Stand Dimensions 20" double- arm (overall length: 30"), 17" high pillar, 10-1/4"x8-1/4"x2" Focusing-block Focus Range 50mm Packing List:One trinocular stereo microscope headOne photo port attachmentOne pair 10X eyepiecesOne pair eye-guardsOne double-arm boom- stand with focusing rackOne LED ring-lightOne power controllerOne power cableOne ring-light mounting adapter

  • Good microscope - perfect for assembly and PWB rework
Style: Microscope
I really like this microscope. Before, I'd struggle reworking a circuit board, having difficulty seeing in enough detail to perform the required work. Now it is easy. I installed the 0.5X Barlow lens to increase the working distance. This allows enough room to get soldering irons, or xacto blades into where you need them. With the 144 LED light attachment there is more than enough light to see the finest details, even at the highest magnification. The counter balanced boom is easy to use and allows some pretty impressive reach on one's work bench. When not in use, I just rotate the microscope out of the way. This is an enabling piece of hardware. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Who's brand is this, anyway?
Style: Microscope
So, the two biggest complaints I have are: 1. The packaging reveals only in one tiny spot, the "brand" of the unit, and it's AmScope. The brand is literally stamped on with an ink stamp! It is not reassuring. 2. The instruction manual was not only for the wrong model scope, NO WHERE in the manual is AmScope mentioned! Also, the manual has typical foreign-to-English translation errors, misspellings and overall, a very unprofessional look. So, in the end I had to rely on the photos in the Amazon listing to assemble my kit. First, I tried without reading a manual and got two parts backwards or upside-down... It didn't take long to fix once I saw photos. I bought a knock-off 0.5 Barlow lens (I mean, the rest of the kit appears "knock-off", so what the heck, right? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LB11DK2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The magnification out of the box is much too powerful for SMD soldering work, so do yourself a huge favor and get a 0.5x reduction lens... this is not AmScope's fault, however. I also bought a ring light. Many users suggested an alternate version than the more expensive one that is offered as an option. This works very nicely, perfect for my needs. It will eventually scratch the paint on the outer ring. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UE1PF1Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My base has AmScope printed on it, so, I assume it's genuine? Obviously they can print "CanScope" for Canada, right? It's obvious this stuff is from China and the manufacturer rebrands it for the world. If they could put some more effort into making us feel like we bought the right product, this review would be perfect. Now, here are the good parts: 1. The scope is durable. However, The only point of failure that I see is the rear height stem. You have simple set-screw mechanics and gravity to keep the boom at one level. Over time, I see divots being developed if you change the height often, or are using too much force (you don't need a lot). A gear mechanism, like on the focus racking unit, would have been a QUALITY improvement. I am going to inquire if I can order another rear stem as a backup. My OCD, LOL. 2. Using the scope does reveal a level of accuracy and quality improvement over all the cheaper ones on the market, especially the ones with 720p LCD screens fixed on from the factory. There is zero-lag with your eyes, and you have ample room to work on the piece below. 3. You can add a camera to this unit. It is a "Simul-Focal" model. If you don't plan to upgrade to a camera, then a "stereo" microscope is cheaper and works exactly the same, without built-in camera mount and reflection mirror. I definitely plan to add a camera at some point. 4. The pan, tilt and position mechanisms are all smooth as butter. 5. The scope is pretty solid and I find that if I tighten things a little, the optics barely move then I put my eyeglasses (I wear progressive bifocals, BTW) to the eye cups. 6. I happened to get mine on some special deal, 15% off or something. That was another plus. Go to the AmScope store on Amazon, you may find deals. 7. You get a dust cover with the unit... USE IT! Conclusion: If you are going to do circuit board surface-mount re-work... this scope can't be beat for the price. I found a split circuit trace with this unit that I never would have spotted with my "5x" lighted magnifier. Adding the tiniest wire to repair the board was also almost easy, with help from this unit! I am delighted to have precisely cut, affixed, fluxed and soldered the new trace wire, all while under the scope. Time will tell if this unit lives up to it's purchase price. I have a feeling it will last many years if I treat it right and cover it when not in use. I recommend this unit. ... show more

  • very stable stand, helpful customer support, heavy, good image quality
Style: w/ 144‑LED Ring Light (standard)
although the microscope head seems to be made out of plastic, it has a good image quality. the ring LED that comes with this shipment seems ok. the stand of the microscope is very heavy (around 20 KG) so the microscope is very stable and its wide base makes it more stable. I have dealt with many shipping companies and services like DHL, UGotBox, Egypt National Post, Hong Kong Post, shop&ship, Aramex, Cainiao, and Yanwen. I didn't have any problems with any of the previously stated companies except FedEx and Shop&ship. Shop&ship is the worst experiment I have ever had and FedEx is the second to that worst experiment. Contacting FedEx Egypt was very stressful, they don't reply to their WhatsApp number except after a day or 2 with an automated message. they don't reply to their hotline 19985. contacting through email was even more frustrating because they only replied after a day or 2. Why was this a big deal for me? because FedEx is collecting around 3.5$ every day as storage fees for that shipment. The shipment arrived in Egypt on 04/04/2024 as it was shown on their tracking website, I contacted FedEx customer service and they confirmed that the shipment arrived at Egypt Airport but when I contacted their customs clearance team, they said nothing had arrived in Egypt showing inconsistency in their replies. Their custom clearance Team only began Custom Clearance on 04/08/2024 and I had to pay for these 4 days storage fees. they weren't helpful at all with the customs clearance process. many times, I had to contact Customs directly to understand what documents were required because the FedEx Customs Clearance Team didn't Clarify anything and didn't respond except only after a day or 2. After all, I paid FedEx around 250$ including Customs Clearance service, Duties, Taxes, Storage Fees, etc.. So the Amscope customer support is great, the microscope is great but FedEx is one of the worst shipping companies I have ever dealt with. ... show more

  • Is NOT an AmScope microscope
Style: Microscope
It happened to me, as I saw it happened to some people else here in the reviews. No AmScope logo anyplace, not in the product, not in the manual, and not even in the boxes; and that is because is not an AmScope but a SZM7045-STL1 (SZMN Series). So wheter the offer is a scam, the stocking cataloger has done wrong, or the dispatcher is mixing things to his/her will. My thing is that even the quality is not bad and it is a trinoscope with a perfect base and supports, this is not what I paid for, and the one I got is somewhat $200 cheaper. The zoom mechanism has debris (like sand) inside and makes noise as it operates. ... show more

  • Great scope for Surface Mount electronics troubleshooting.
Style: Microscope
(I don't know what "sheerness" and "thickness" means but I gave 'em a 5 anyway.) OK This scope has been extremely useful for working on electronics as well as just looking at whatever up close. Even without the users manual I figured out how to set it up and use it just fine. It's changed that way I troubleshoot electronics, and also the way I solder SMD parts. If you are an electronics person and are working with SMD I highly recommend this scope. ... show more
