This set is all wood, box and pieces. The craftsmanship is perfect. Very very happy. It is easily worth 4 times what they are asking.

The price performance quality is certainly there with this travel set. The board is well made, the pieces are all good quality with no defects or blemishes. The latch holds the set securely closed and along with the fitted spaces allows this to travel with little disturbance. The only slight criticism that I have is that the magnets are marginal to the task at best. I've read other reviews stating that you could hold the board upside down and the pieces remain in place... Not a chance. They will at best keep the pieces from flying during a slight nudge of the board, but you will not be playing a game in a moving vehicle.

I bought this for my daughter to use in chess club at school. It was one of the first things I bought her that she actually took care of. She still has it, and all the pieces, and they're in great shape. Worth every penny!

I LOVE this CHESS BOARD! It is AMAZING! If you are a wanting a travel chess board with strong magnet pull but not too little or too much, buy this! The value for the money is well worth it and the decorations on the box are delightful as well. My husband and I have had many games on this board so far and everything holds up great! The soft felt on the bottom of the pieces are starting to barely peal, but not even so. It's just from pulling the pieces in n out of their little chess storage spot. This doesn't interfear with anything as you can just spread the felt out flat again and they are just good as new. So maybe like a little snag but it's just the loose part as it wasn't all the way glued down and a little felt hangs off slightly. But it's well worth it and this isn't even the slightest issue. We wanted a travel board to bring along when SHTF and this little guy is very compact. It isn't the smallest, but the smallest didn't seem up to par on quality as desired. So, this one wins 1,000 times over! Don't second guess or think about it. If you want a travel chess board, BUY this ONE, or three plus! Enjoy!!

This is an attractive little set with tight, but not too tight, magnets. The pieces have a good heft and nice feel. The set is big enough that one's thumbs don't get in the way, but small enough to fit on an airplane tray table in a stable way, but with a fair amount of overhang, of course. Our family really loves this board much more than we thought we would. There is nothing junky about it.
