I'm actually pretty impressed with the desk, especially for the price. It was hard to put together for 1 person, but in the instructions it says 2 people required. Lots of pieces, lots of gluing, but it all went together as it was supposed to. The desk top feels like it has paper over pressboard. Do not get it wet, it will not hold up to water rings. The cubby spaces are not square. Normal cubes do not fit. The end with the upper shelf are 11"W X 12 1/2"H X 8 1/2"D. The ones on the lower end are 10"W X 12 1/2"H X 8 1/2"D. Kind of odd sizing to try to find cubes to fit. Spiral notebooks fit, but a binder hangs out of the shelf. Overall I would buy this again and would recommend it for light use at home or for a student. ... show more

I wanted a desk that would fit my needs as a professional seamstress and craft maker and that would fit my hobby room. I needed more storage and a great sewing table but what what I got was very disappointed. Thank goodness for the somewhat of an ease to return... "This is my product review on the good and the bad of my experience not to reflex on any one or any business involved." The rating on delivery right at the time. The carrier was nice polite person but not on his handling and care from package deliver very aggressive handling of package. Witness him drop the package out of the pack of the truck.His handling of the dolly while coming up the step and entering the house wasn't care of property. Cannot say anything good about the product. Not to insult the company or the employees... just stating the facts on what my experience were 1. The product came damaged with two massive holes ( as seen in the pictures on the last two pictures)even though the product information stated only the shipping box is damaged not the product. I put it together to see if it would work but then found a massive flaw ( as seen in picture 1 bottom right) it was very uneven on the bottom and the back stabilizers boards wouldn't attach do to the place where you are so post to attach to was very damaged missing pieces and a holes. 2. Takes two people to put together that are strong and flexible do to the location of the clamps. The put-together manual doesn't show clear pictures of main points or have any words--I know why, do to they aren't wanting to place all the different languages direction on their manual. 3. Do not use for sewing machine type of products will not hold up to the repeating vibrations 4. Must have the stabilizer the M and N parts back to keep stable.     • Good Enough, but not Great.
Price: I purchased this desk from Amazon because they had the cheapest price of . I compared and researched similar desks and noticed that the exact same stock photos for this desk were also used for desks on Target's and Walmart's websites - but sold under different "names." So basically they were the same desk with a different name. Target was more than twice the price of Amazon, and Walmart was in between the two. Assembly: It was time consuming and a little less than "easy" to assemble than I anticipated, but I was able to do almost all of it on my own. So it was "okay." There were a few times a I needed an extra pair of hands to hold things into place for me. Info: It's made of laminate material and particle board, not solid wood, but you get what you pay for, and I knew that going in. Pros: It's very lightweight and easy to move around. It's also pretty sturdy. Lots of storage space. Cons: The cubby squares are a weird size. Most shelves and furniture have a "standard" size and you can purchase the fabric or straw-like boxes to hold materials and slide those into the cubbies. You cannot do that with this desk. The cubbies are tall, but NOT wide enough, which was disappointing, but it's also what makes the desk small enough for a small space. ... show more

After hearing about all the reviews where people had gotten broken pieces or didn't have enough glue, I was wary about getting it. However, I was lucky enough to not have any broken pieces or any dents in the wood boards other than pieces that had to be nailed to the back of the shelves had wrinkles in them. Only one side had the wrinkles (probably due to water damage or didn't adhere to the board properly) so I just had to flip it to hide it. The back of the shelf is against the wall so no one would notice at all. Building the desk itself can be tricky, but the images are pretty self-explanatory and easy to follow. It took about 2 hours to build by myself and the parts where the boards connect with the screws can get tricky. I'm loving my new desk and it fits perfectly in my room :) ... show more

I ordered this desk because from the measurements, it would fit perfectly in a small space & provide lots of storage for all my craft supplies, which I can tell you does both! Although I must say that you get what you pay for. When my package arrived it was missing all of the hardware to put it together. I reached out to Ameriwood Customer Service & within 24 hours they had gotten back to me and was sending me out my complete replacement of the hardware. That was easy as pie! When the parts came, the wooden dowles were extremely small and don't hold together your pieces, even with the wood glue(I didn't use the wood glue that came with it, I used my Gorilla Glue for wood I had already for crafts) so be cautious when doing those and not to shove them all the way down. I also had to drill the pilot holes just a tiny bit to make them bigger so the screw would be able to fit correctly. All in all when the desk was put together, it was not very sturdy (even after letting the glue dry of course) so there was a quick trip to the hardware store and picked up these little metal brackets (included in my pictures.) With the brackets placed, this desk is now super sturdy and there is no wiggle or wobble! If you purchased this desk and there was no issue for you, awesome, although I would be prepared to do a little modification. I now love my desk (even with my little brackets) and use it every single day! After modifications were made, this desk went from 2.5/3 to 5 stars!! ... show more
