I have wanted a standing desk that did not have adjustment for several years, problem was, most are too short. This desk at 42" is the perfect height for me to stand and do my paperwork comfortably. I am 5'10". The shelves are great since the desk top is not oversized, the shelves give me a place to put all my supplies. I bought 3 clear plastic storage bins and they fit perfectly to create drawers, making the shelves even better. This desk is sturdy but not overly heavy. Sitting at my desk for hours on end was causing me enormous amounts of pain. Now I can sit or stand at whim. I have my desks across my office so tbere is even a bit of walking involved. My work day is so much better now! Icannot praise this desk enough. My desk was a little damaged in shipping, one leg got crushed and one corner of the table top dinged, but I really needed to be able to stand for part of my day at work, and who knows if shipping would just damage another, so I chose not to take it out on the company who created it. Good desk, you can assemble by yourself if you’ve done Ikea-like furniture before and instructions clear (except for one part). Fits my laptop, docking station, and extra monitor just fine. Biggest issue during assembly was discovering that screw holes for shelves are staggered and must be lined up with the shelf before screwing. (I screwed in the first shelf wrong before I figured it out). It would be nice if they has arrows indicating where the front was for each shelf. But it’s not that big of a deal. Also, I would recommend assembling with a friend since screwing on the shelves while holding alone can be difficult. But that’s not really their problem. ... show more

I needed a standing desk for a kiosk like area and I found this desk that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional as much more affordable than other options. I would have liked it in a lighter color but dark is just fine as well. Once assembled, this desk has been quite sturdy but I haven't filled all the shelves yet. Speaking of that - assembly could have been better. The shelfs should have stickers to mark the front since the holes are asymmetrical. Also, the order of assembly didn't feel right or intuitive. I can easily see it assembled in the wrong order. I also didn't like some of the fastenings - especially the shelves as those seemed weak. Perhaps cross beams instead and then screw the shelf onto the cross beams. Aligning the shelves took most of the effort so improved design would have sped up the assembly and made it much easier for one person. ... show more

    • Price drop made it worth it
Cons: One set of 12 screws did not fit into holes so had to replace with smaller screws of my own. Not at all simple to put together in terms of alignment of pieces and awkwardness of screw placement compared to other similar assembled items. Ultimately left off two larger screws which just did not align no matter what. Pros: Major price drop to $50 compared to $180 at another retail store is great value. Well packaged and no damage or dings upon arrival. Despite some difficulty assembling and problem with screws the unit is still very, very sturdy. Instructions were very clear. I looked for awhile for a stand up desk at a reasonable price. This desk was the perfect height, is very nice looking, is very sturdy, and the price was excellent. The only thing I would have preferred is it to be slightly wider (I have 2 computers on it) but it works well for my needs. When I received the desk it had a couple issues which I contacted customer service about. Customer service was excellent!!! Scratches very easily so I wrapped the top with vinyl scraps. After about 6 weeks the dings and knicks and scratches bothered me enough. For a hundred bucks I’m not even mad about that-it’s still a 5 star review. It’s sturdy, doesn’t shake. All I had to add was a shim at one corner, it’s to be expected with any furniture. The shelves are kind of inaccessible if you’re sitting at the desk, being narrow all I can comfortably grab is items on the front 1/2-1/3 of the top two shelves.
