6-month update: Basically the same as before. No color, bleed, no loose seams, still wash them the exact same way, I’m still dry after I use them. The only thing I can say that is noteworthy is that after they’ve been washed and dried a couple of times, the end of the towel with the decorative trim shrunk (shrank?) somewhat, and so that end of the towel is no longer as wide as the other end. Annoying for sure, but I can live with it. I read tons of reviews for at least a dozen brands. None stood out, every brand had the same complaints: loose threads, loose seams, not absorbent, not soft enough, not thick enough, colors bleed. So I chose one that wouldn’t break the bank because I needed a lot of towels. I purchased 4 6-packs in 4 different colors and 2 bath sheets that matched 2 of the sets. Most of the towels did have loose threads. On some, I only found one, some had multiple. I always thought that was normal so I just snipped them off. All of the seams appear to be intact. I’ll keep an eye on them as they get used and washed. They were decently soft right out of the bag, were softer after a wash cycle. I washed each color separately with cold water, All Free & Clear detergent and white vinegar in the softener dispenser. I noticed no color bleed or weird patches of discoloration. They do a good job of absorbing water but I understand why people say they don’t. When I’m drying off after my shower, the towel immediately feels wet, so where the towel is against my skin, I feel wet. That’s my theory anyways, because I don’t still feel as though I just stepped out of the shower when I’m done. The towel feeling wet and me feeling dry tells me they absorb just fine. They really aren’t super thick, which is honestly why these are only getting 4 stars. I really love a thick fluffy towel. Although I’m satisfied with the purchase overall, I don’t think I’d buy them again. ... show more

I have had these towels for a year and eight months. After comparing the multitude of offers, the wording of descriptions, and reviews, I settled on American Soft Linen and bought a set for our house: 2 Jumbo Large Bath Towels; 4 bath towel set; 4 hand towels; 4 washcloths. I was pleased upon opening. They were plush. The terry loops were long and dense. I had chosen Navy Blue, knowing that that could have issues. None. Color consistent through all pieces. All edges well finished, the dobby bands tight and even. Considering the total investment, I studiously followed the "breaking-in/setting" instructions provided, washing in cold water with vinegar and tumble dry, medium high until just completely dry, and hanging them.(carry over heat enough to dry them. I will use a towel for two to three days before laundering. So, over ~600 days, perhaps 200 cycles +/-. The initial wash/dry cycles yielded HUGE amounts of lint from all pieces I prewashed the set a second time. This concerned me: so much lint indicated several possibilities: the raw cotton was NOT long staple Turkish or Egyptian cotton; the spinning of thread was not tight, the pile was TOO long, the weave was not tight. I always laundered towels separately. I did not overcrowd. All the pieces have held color consistently consist darkovercrowded. The dobbies didn't shrink or shed threads. Stayed soft. I don't use softener. VERY absorbent. Dried quickly if hung on bar. Soft, but not too soft; I could still invigorate myself with rubbing just rough enough to slightly exfoliate. For some reason I got it into my head to rub harder with a flat weave hand towels. Off rolled the blue lint in the photos above. 😖 After one year and eight months they continue to coat my body with an heretofor unseen blue coating. "Turkish" in this context, must simply indicate "from" Turkey, NOT indicating "constructed" from long fibered, tightly spun and woven into a stable plush. ... show more

Tired of regular size bath towels not able to wrap around your gorgeous curvy bodies? Then this is the towel for you! Wraps everything up and is very absorbant. I bought the Malibu Peach and it is a very soft pretty Peach color. Going to buy another in an Aqua like color to go with my bathroom beach colors. They also have a bigger towel than this, but this size fits and overlaps my round body perfectly. Washes well in warm water not hot. Loses some fuzz in dryer like all towels do. No noticeable after fuzz. If storage is short I suggest rolling your towels up and stacking them, instead of folding and stacking ... It saves space! Will replace my other towels gradually with their bath towel sets. I either donate my old towels to family or the local Humane Society. ... show more
