i am a long time user of the King of shaves line of products. And have been VERY pleased with everything i have used from them. However, lately thier products have been hit or miss on Amazon. So, i decided to give the American Crew a try. And I am very pleased. I am now using the AC preshave oil and the after shave lotion. I like them both very much. The preshave oil has a nice scent and feel good on the skin. (I do still use the KOS shave gel until my supply runs out). The shave i get is very close. never a rash or razor burn. evenon my very sensitive adams apple area. So, I give this product 5 stars. Order without hesitation.

I have been using this EXCELLENT pre-shave oil for over a year and I love it. It last me over six months with shaving a minimum of four times a week. I easily nick my face a couple of times each shave with a DE razor before I starting using this product. Since then, I've hardly had any nicks. Before this I used a product that was more like vegetable oil. Although it was helpful, it was a disgusting in texture and smell. There was a guy (I don't remember his name) that kept saying to try this product in a discussion about pre-shave oils. The conversation continued almost ignoring this guy. I wish I could remember his name because I would thank him for recommending American Crew. It has a pleasant feel and smell and it almost makes shaving a pleasurable experience (I hate shaving). I purchased my last bottle back in September 2017 and I still have quite a bit left! I gave the vegetable oil to my nephew and he only used it a few time before setting it aside in the cabinet. If it were possible I would give this product ten stars!

Smells great, shaves clean. I bought this oil as I was just getting started with double edge shaving and wanted something to go under my Col. Conk shave soap for smoothness. The bottle is still somewhat small for the price and you have to use a little more than you'd think. For me it works best if I apply about a nickel's diameter of the oil and rub until cloudy-- the equivalent of lather, and from there it's smooth sailing. If I skimp on the oil or rubbing, as I did the first few times the coverage is spotty and there's snags. I use this Monday morning after shaving Sunday night for a fresh professional close look, and I couldn't be more pleased with the effect. Also great for touch ups when you are in a rush or for parts of your beard that grow back faster. I use this for my sideburns and chin on work days.

I've been shaving my head for about 5 years, mostly using Thrive Natural Shave Oil, which I was very happy with but is almost impossible to get now. This stuff, however, is amazing. I can use just three squirts to fully cover a damp scalp, and it really does just make the blade glide. It's also incredibly light so it doesn't gum up the razor blade, which makes washing it out much easier. After nearly a month I've only used about half a bottle, so I'm getting good mileage out of it. I'm a convert and won't be switching back.

I first tried shaving oil on a whim while traveling extensively 2009-2011 (Somersets brand which is excellent by the way) ... I was looking for cream or gel and saw a tiny bottle for more money but claiming exponentially more shaves per volume. Super compact for travel so I tried it. Bit of a learning curve but I never looked back. Somersets is great but this American Crew Ultra-Glide is exceptional. It's thicker and spreads/penetrates more deeply/evenly. Just one or two small pumps (about 5-7 drops) is all I need after a quick hot-water face wash for a full shave. One additional drop or two for against the grain afterwards. I have a very course, very dense beard. This is far, far more than a pre-shave oil... this is the only thing you need. Anyone complaining about it, I'd hazard a guess, just isn't doing it quite right. Bonus - it double as after-shave moisturing oil. It's been over 10 years using oils... more than 5 years using this one and I can count the number of razor-burns and irritations on less than one hand. For what it's worth I use a double-edge safety razors, normally an old Gillette red-tip. A shave takes me 5 minutes at most. No brushes, no creams, no gels, or this or that..... just hot water, shave oil and the razor. Done.

Good shave oil, a bit pricey though. Has remained consistent over the years instead of being stellar then sabatoging it with lesser ingredients.
