I fortunately stumbled upon this closet kit when I was trying to come up with a solution for my Mother-In-Law’s closet area. The walls were unfortunately either too long or short for the Closetmaid products. I also looked at having Home Depot custom cut me some Rubbermaid shelves as well, but after including all the brackets and such that added up to $240+. This solution for $80 is very very solid. You can even buy two if you have at least 6’ x 6’ area in your closet. As far as the product itself, it’s sturdy enough, but not sturdy as a rock. But it’s more than sufficient. Putting it together is easy too, and only requires on person. One tip that I found odd in the instructions is you want to actually put the tension rod brackets on much earlier in the shelf building process than it says (like the first tension rod bracket should almost be on the first (lowest) bar). The way they have you do it you have to unscrew the top portions to put the tension brackets back on after you’ve already built your two side shelf stacks. I got the chrome metal version of this and it looks pretty good. I’d love for Amazon to offer parts if this to better allow you to customize your combos a little more to better fit individual closets, but this still deserves 5 stars for sure. It's almost perfect! My old closet system was cheap and I felt like it was going to fall over on me any moment. I replaced it with this shelving unit. Overall, I'm very pleased. My closet is 66" x 24". Pros: Easy to assemble (helps if you've put a unit like this together before) even for one person. I did it by myself in under an hour. Everything was in the package, nothing was damaged. Sturdy! This thing doesn't wobble, and the top shelves and the bars don't bow AT ALL. And I've fairly well stuffed it. The shelves are plenty tall enough to put my boot boxes on their end, and wide enough to fit two boot boxes on a shelf. Cons: The hanging bars are a little too close together. You can choose where to hang the lower bar, and I hung it so that a pair of pants wouldn't hit the floor. The result is that the clothes on the upper bar do hang a little over the clothes on the lower bar. No space to hang long dresses. I put them to the side of the top bar and just didn't hang anything under them. Not really a con, since I knew that going in. It fit so much of my stuff that I didn't purge nearly as much as I wanted to! I would totally buy this again, and I'm looking for a smaller unit to fit my husband's much smaller closet. ... show more

The shelving was delivered in one package and was easy to assemble. The components are sturdy metal and fit together well. The overall unit is quite strong and pretty attractive for closet shelving (certainly a lot nice than the closetmaid shelving it replaced. My only gripe is a few of the plastic shelf liners were missing and there is no mechanism to ask the seller to send me these. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This closet system was easy and quick to put together and has helped me to stay organized in my small studio apartment. It is compact yet strong and sturdy and holds a ton of stuff! I can’t imagine how I would stay organized without it!

If you're a Black Belt Ikea warrior this will be a snap! I've done these before but industrial racks but same concept. The instructions are garbage only vague pictures but once you realize how things assemble you'll be on your way. Don't unpack and unwrap everything at once you'll get frustrated, throw wrappings away as you use the parts and there are many. Build one side, after it's correctly finished the second side you'll do in 10 minutes. Give yourself two to three hours because undoubtedly you'll have to take things apart and rebuild. Ah, someone at the factory has a sense of humor, the threads are removable and I found one the threads needed to be taken out and put in the opposite end. Also I crisscrossed the shelves I think it makes the shelves stronger. I also skipped the zip ties to secure it to the wall and used these clamps from any hardware or big box store. Shelf liners are missing. The assembly is a nightmare. There were so many pieces. Each single shelf requires 12-16 pieces PER SHELF. I absolutely wish I would have bought a different product. If you’re willing to put together 200 pieces and if you get all off the liners - the shelf is nice looking.
