This came in a package the size of a shoe box, vacuum packed very small. But you could tell, just by the weight of the box that is was substantial. I'm glad I got the "light" version because this is thick, relatively heavy and very warm. The heavy version might make me break out in a sweat. This was not the least expensive product of its type on Amazon but the reviews were strong, and there were thousands. Compared to similar products I've purchased at Ikea this is far superior, and less expensive. My only concern is that one of my dogs might start to pull the stuffing out, which they have a tendency to do, but the duvet cover I purchased should prevent that. I might have to get a more durable cover, but at least now I know if I get chilly at night I've got what I need. Added 2/10/2023 I heat my house with wood, but last night I was just too tired to light a fire and the ground was too icy to fetch wood. So I bit the bullet with the temps in the house around 50 degrees. This comforter kept me very warm. I just might skip the night time fires if the outside temps are over 35 degrees from now on. ... show more

    • Decent, but not enough on its own in wintertime

This is a nice comforter: lightweight, decent-looking, and made from breathable fabric. Depending on where you live, weather-wise, this may be perfect for you, or utterly useless. If you live in Northern Ohio like I do, it's not going to be enough on its own in the wintertime, I use it with two blankets on cold nights and one on slightly warmer ones (anything over about 30 degrees Fahrenheit). If you live in Minnesota, Upstate NY, or a similar region, it probably wouldn't be enough on its own even during much of the spring and fall. In traditionally warmer regions (say Tennessee and south), though, this would be a great winter blanket all by itself in most cases. It insulates fairly well on its own and, in conjunction with even another relatively light blanket, it should keep its users quite warm. I found adding more than 2 other blankets to the mix caused me to overheat on a night when it was 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside and I didn't have the heat on a particularly high setting. I bought 2 of these and was a little skeptical. They exceeded my expectations! They are so comfortable and cozy. I have only used it in winter months so I can’t yet speak to warmer weather but I am very pleased and will most likely be purchasing more for the rest of the beds in our home.

I like everything about this except for if your co-sleeper sleeps hot, this thing traps heat. My handsome honey that I love and adore sleeps super hot so I was somewhat surprised when he asked for a heavier blanket before the cold set in here in Central Texas. I’m a desert rat so Central Texas gets cold for me but I’m also of an age where I’m always hot. So I didn’t want to go heavy and wasn’t sure if the light would be heavy enough so I opted for the all season. In the summer he’ll be drenched in sweat at night with a super light weight blanket. But that doesn’t happen when it’s cold outside, until now. I spend my night kicking the comforter off because I’m sweltering and then rooting around for it because I’ve gotten chilly. All that being said, when he hates something he isn’t afraid to tell me to donate it and get something different. But he hasn’t said that yet. It doesn’t feel heavy or hot when it’s just me. But when he gets into bed and snuggles up under the comforter, I’m looking to stick a leg out because it traps his body heat. ... show more

This comforter is the winter version. I love it! It was 32 degrees and 68 in my room. This comforter kept me warm allowing me to sleep. The comforter was vacuum sealed, but fluffed up within a couple of hours. Well worth the money.

This insert worked well. It wasn't as puffy as the one it replaced, but turned out to be very warm and comfy with our flannel duvet cover. I suspect it will cool down sufficiently with the cotton duvet cover in the summer.
