Overall, I like this. This may be the same model I've already purchased two of, but not reviewed, or a close "variant". I love my Fire TVs though I felt that the earlier ones lacked enough space for applications. This is one I purchased for a different reason. I'm using it as a computer monitor. You have to be careful on this and if you're one who plays games, this might not be for you. It's absolutely NOT snappy fast as game players need, but for me doing my usual academic work (i.e. -grading) and setting up virtual machines and such, it's absolutely fine. I will say that I made the decision to buy it based on another user's review that it was suitable as a computer monitor and handled text well enough, which not all smart televisions can do when being used as a monitor. Pros Easy setup Has a nice picture, and adds HDR when being used as a computer monitor Has ample storage to add apps (around 12 GB) Cons It can get a little strange as a computer display. You might find your scaling changed, may find you need to modify your refresh. Don't try and overdo it even if it's got refresh rate above 60 Hz, as mine showed. In my own tests, it appears to cause the screen to periodically blank out. Overall, I like it and I'd recommend it. The photo shown is me using it as a computer monitor.

It was a great tv while it lasted but it only lasted for 3 years so I will not be buying again and the warranty i purchased has completely disappeared from the order. *update* I couldn't get thru to talk to amazon but they called me they said they saw my review and had checked and found my extended warranty and would be replacing my tv for a new one I was shocked that they had noticed my review and very happy with the resolution of the problem. I will update when the replacement arrives and let you all know how it is for now they get a 5 star for customer service

I scratch my head when I read reviewers getting so particular/nitpicky with their reviews. The Firetv is just over $200 TV plus tax. If you purchased it for less than $200, more power to you. At $200 price range, the value is beyond anything I know about on the market. The complainants, which are few, reminds me of someone going to a basic breakfast place, ordering a blueberry muffin and complaining about the number of blueberries, as if they are at a 5 star establishment. The oversized muffin cost $1.99. This is a true story. Embarrassing to listen to this person complain after eating the entire muffin, yet true. This TV is not five stars in terms of being the best available technology/state of the art. I'm not a gamer. So, my needs are different. Yet, for the money,, there's likely nothing better in terms of pure value than this tv. Also, Amazon backs their product. The TV received had an odor that some have complained of—a plastic burning smell. I requested a replacement the unit (I actually purchased a new one and returned the defective one) and the one I have now doesn't have the odor. In sum, this is a fantastic value.

for now I will give the TV a 4 star rating. The remote not so much.. Purchased this TV July of 2024 and had to replace the batteries in the remote every three months....Now the remote has completely stopped working. I have had the same thing happen with the Firesticks that I own. All of my TV's are smart TVs so I do not need the fire sticks anymore but I do need the remote for the the Fire TV... Thank goodness for the remote for the cable box, because I was told by customer service that I would need to download the FireTV Remote App to work the TV or buy a new remote... Really!!!

For the price, I think this is a bargain, I've never owned a TV that came with the fire stick built-in, to me the picture is great, easy setup, does everything I need and more, I replaced my Emerson which lasted 15 years, but it finally went out, don't know how long this one will last, but I'm very satisfied and happy with the purchase, don't know why there are any bad reviews, what you get is well worth it, I have mine in my master bedroom on the wall, and the picture is a big improvement over the Emerson I watched for so many years, I'm not picky or much of a complainer, unless it's really called for, so I can honestly say I would definitely recommend this TV, no it's not top of the line thousand dollar premium brand, however I'm enjoying immensely and watching movies is great, for the money you spend I would get this one, every time.
