The heel strap stays up perfectly and doesn't seem like it will fall down, but it is a little tight which is why I would consider going up half a size if you are between sizes. I was at the point of being willing to pay $100 if I could just find something that fit. I gave up for months and decided to try Amazon again. Well, these are great! A plain suede, but the heel is quite stylish and gives them a bit of glamour. And so comfortable!
