Adding my review with measurements, which I always find most helpful in considering clothing purchases. I’m 5’8”, 155 lbs athletic build with some perimenopausal fluff around the middle. My measurements fell right on the line between M and L. I went with a medium and found it fit well, although the V was deep enough to show a hint of cleavage. Were I to buy another for office wear, I might try a large for more coverage. I also like the length—hits right at the knee for me and doesn’t feel too short as many dresses do on me. I echo the other comments about the dress being good quality for the price, and that the wrinkle-resistant fabric will be great for traveling. Teen daughter said it’s very flattering.

Ordered this for a funeral based solely on color (black), fabric (stretchy), cost (inexpensive), and delivery speed (fast) as I needed something in a hurry that would hopefully require minimal alterations before the sudden event. I'll break this review into a few parts. Firstly, can't complain about something that looks decent and costs under $50. If I had more freedom of choice I might have gotten one of the sale prints but the event determined the need for subdued. Received it in two days, giving me enough time to wash it before wearing. Secondly, the fabric is a slinky kind of knit, not too thin but not too heavy. It was tolerable outdoors in triple-digit-heat-index weather. It had great movement too; I didn't feel at all restricted climbing into and out of a tall vehicle, and while walking/standing all day. For me it required a sweater indoors, but the funeral parlor was admittedly kept cold. After washing and drying, I hung it up and didn't need to iron; it also showed no wrinkles at the end of wearing all day. Thirdly, the fit. I'm short with an Unfortunately Sized bust; I have to fit everything to that part of the anatomy and hope I can make enough alterations elsewhere to not look horrible. This is a true wrap dress and that aspect helped me in getting a decent fit at waist and hips. The armholes for me gapped a little; the shoulders are a little too tall (admittedly my shoulder-to-bust distance is shorter than most manufacturers cut and I always have this problem). I wore a black bra underneath to minimize any undergarment peek but I'll need to make a formal alteration at some point. Sleeves would have solved this problem but I didn't want to go with longer sleeves in the warm weather. I also needed to add two safety pins: one next to the button for security — my button held fine but I didn't want to tempt fate based on some experiences in other reviews here — and one where the neckline overlapped as leaning forward caused the front to gap indecently open. A person with a smaller bust might not have as much of a gap problem but the more generously endowed may consider the mighty safety pin. A small snap added to the overlap would also solve the gap problem. Overall I have no complaints as this did everything I needed it to do, and comfortably enough to consider ordering the dress in another color.

This dress was amazing, a bit heavy, but was very soft. The material was stretchy and fit to my body curves, I ordered a large as was recommended, and it was too large, I even tried to tie the wrap part tighter, it did not help take up the slack. I returned it and am going to order a Medium, I loved the dress, the wine color is beautiful. The dress would be great for many different occasions.

Love, love, love this dress. It absolutely fits me perfectly and it has just the amount of stretch I like. I can’t wait to wear it to work. I’ll come back and update this as soon as I wash it, but so far I am impressed. I’m really trusting the Amazon Basics brand lately. Really great prices for quality clothing. I’m done with buying anything from the mall at this point.

I wanted to love this dress but for starters it was huge on me. Second, the holes that the tie goes through was pretty big and I feel like it would’ve untied any minute. The color is pretty though! It’s not perfect but it has potential.

This dress has the most body flattering fit! It is beautiful! The only negative is the dress had a "very" strong chemical scent to it (smelled like it was sprayed with a whole can of Lysol, not perfume). I plan to wash it tonight in hopes of removing the chemical odor. I bought this in two other colors and those did not have a bad scent. The stinky dress was also packaged differently than the other two dresses, which was odd since it seemed to be from the same source. I usually wear a medium, but since I have broad shoulders and some reviews mentioned it is low in the chest area, I bought it in a large. A large also gives more room to cover the chest area. The dress looks fabulous on. I am 5ft.4 1/2 in. tall and 130 lbs. Lovely dress!

I first ordered a small, and while it fit, it felt just a smidge tight. I ordered a medium and it’s definitely more comfortable but a bit loose in the arms. For reference I am 5’7 125-130 lbs. I’m keeping both because as a perimenopausal lady my weight distribution and bloating fluctuate and I need options! For the price, it’s worth it to have two sizes on hand depending on where I’m at in the month with weight or water retention changes! This will look nice this summer with a blazer over it for work, or a light cardigan. It’s a true wrap dress. Lovely fabric. Diane Von Furstenberg would approve.
