    • Very comfortable but not every pair fits the same way

These are the most comfortable work pants I've ever owned. They're incredibly soft and have held up so far to daily wear and regular washes. The only thing is that the fit is not consistent: I've purchased two pairs, one charcoal and one mushroom brown, and the charcoal pair is a much slimmer fit in the legs while the brown pair is quite baggy. I’ve picked up a few different pairs of chinos over the years, and these Amazon Essentials ones are definitely a good value for the price. The fit is true to size — straight without being too tight or baggy — and there’s just enough stretch to make them comfortable for all-day wear. The fabric feels durable but lightweight, so they work year-round. Stitching and overall construction look solid too — no loose threads or weird seams out of the box. Only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that the color (Tan) is just a little lighter than it looked online — not a big deal, but something to be aware of. Positives. It is rare to find casual pants that offer a 31-inch inseam, which is my size. Rear pockets are deep enough so they can be buttoned over a larger wallet which doesn't have to be placed sideways. Pants are stylish in that they are cut just below the natural waist; however, this makes them a little tight in the crotch. Negatives. Front pockets are a bit shallow; closure button and rear pocket buttons are sewn on very loosely and will likely come off soon and have to be resewn on. ... show more

I bought these for a new job I recently accepted that required dressing a little less casual. I really like the look and feel of them. They are comfortable pants and true to size. The material is nicer than normal khakis would be but they still look good with a polo.

    • Great, serviceable pants

I buy these for my husband in both black and the medium blue shade. He loves them and wears them all the time. They are comfortable and not hot. The cotton is a good weave, very smooth and doesn't wear out. He wears them to work at the office, around the house and on stage playing guitar (he also has to lug his guitar, amp, and sound system around, so he's hard on his clothes for someone who does not do manual labour). He takes a 34" inseam and these are juuust long enough. I haven't measured them, but they might come up a tiny bit short. They are not tight on him, so I would say they are definitely true to size in the waist and hips. The only other reason they are not five-star is that the black colour fades with wear (actually, the blue does, too, but you don't notice it; I can only see the difference in the blue when I compare pants of different ages). It is true that black cotton always fades, perhaps because I line dry our clothes. They might not fade as much in a dryer, although I do dry them inside out, in the shadiest area possible...
