1st, Iike carpenter pants with a nice size pocket on the leg where I can keep my phone. 2nd, I'm gradually trying to avoid plastic, including in my clothes (tough when I'm also a cyclist with lots of clothes made with "performance fabrics.") and these say they're all cotton. These are comfortable and utilitarian - -as carpenter pants should be. The fabric is thicker than standard jeans - more like canvas than denim. They were kind of stiff at first but got a little softer after washing them. They are a little baggier in the legs than I expected, but that's not a problem - more freedom of movement. These are very nice work pants. They are triple stitched down the legs. They are beefed up in the belt loops, pockets, and the rear hem line. Having a hammer loop on both the left and right sides is a nice touch. The side cargo pockets are nice and roomy. The fabric is 100% cotton canvas that seems very durable, yet soft to the touch. They are comfortable and offer plenty of room to move without being too baggy. I own work clothes from just about every major brand out there. I would put these right up there with those brands. These are very straightforward with no frills pants. They're not fitted at all and are going to look like a canvas bag on you. Otherwise, they seem to hold up pretty well and have some pockets in nice places. Very basic fit and design. I found that I would probably go a size lower next time.

The first standout feature is the superior quality of the fabric. The brown pants are crafted from a durable yet comfortable material that feels soft against the skin. The attention to detail in stitching and construction is evident throughout the pants. These pants fit well and are very accurate to the size chart. If you order them in the right size they can even be worn without a belt. My only complaint is that they are liable to fade over time, but the quality of the fabric stays the same. Overall these are an excellent product that I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for pants that can be work both as work pants and as every day pants. I have been looking for a pair of black carpenter pant jeans for a long time. Wrangler makes my preferred brand and in a number of colors, but does not seem to make a black carpenter pants. I took a chance on Amazon Essentials and I'm sorry I did. The black carpenter pant jeans that arrived from Amazon are ill fitting and way too large than the size indicated on the pants. I was swimming in them. The purchase wasn't recent and I didn't notice it until I finally tried them on. I won't be purchasing anything from this line anytime soon. ... show more

I bought these pants for light construction and painting projects inside my house, because I got a little too fat to wear my scrap jeans from decades ago. These pants seem very well made and comfortable, a good fit. Stitching looks good but before wearing it I noticed a tiny hole on one lower leg. I won't return it because these are work pants and I'll superglue the hole and probably do worse damage later.
