1. Don’t let the length fool you. My windows are 42-inches in length, but these 52-inch curtains perfectly cover them without any bunching, which is great. 2. In terms of blocking outside noise, I’d give them a 7/10 rating, considering my previous pair of blackout curtains weren’t as effective. I returned these as they were too dark for my room, however, I was super impressed with the quality for the thick heavy fabric. I ironed them in pleats and they hung perfectly. I tried them for a few days, but they were darkening, and I guess that is not what I want after all. I suspect the thermal aspect attributes to the thick dense fabric. These are really nice curtains and I love the material. We got the dusty rose which has very subtle slubs of blue and brown. Looks really good and ties the room together. They do a REALLY good job blocking the light and drafts and I think will keep the room where we installed them much warmer this winter.
