I recently bought an iphone 17 Pro Max, which uses USB-C. My previous phone was an iphone 12 pro max, which used ye olde Lightning port. So this meant that I was going to have to replace my old USB A to Lightning cables with USB A to USB C cables, and I was going to need a couple of them, One for my car (for Carplay,), One my my truck (for Carplay), one for my home wall charger, and another to keep at work. Fortunately USB cables aren't rocket science and they are easy and cheap to come by. These Amazon Basics one are fine, the 6 foot length is adequate for just about every use, they seem to be built reasonably well, and charging speed is as good as anything else out there. TLDR: Wanna charge your phone at 5V/3A? Then Get this! Anyone who says USB-C simplifies things never actually shopped for cables! In theory it's nice to have one form factor, but in practice it's a huge pain to have completely divorced form factor from performance capabilities because now everything looks like a USB-C and you can't tell anything about a cable's power and data transfer rates without it's spec sheet. Ok, rant over. This cable is sturdy, plenty long, inexpensive, and does a great job of charging a phone using an ordinary 5V/3A power source. It's not for super fast charging. It's not for charging a laptop. It's not for transferring terabytes of video data in the blink of an eye. Know what you're getting, and this is a great product. ... show more

This is an excellent USB Type-C to Type-A cable, I specifically purchased this cable to replace my older aging USB Type-A cables that I was using in conjunction with a USB-A to C adapter head. This is by far one of the best charging cable that I've purchased and is a great alternative to Anker (basically the only other brand that I've trust to purchase when it comes to charging cables). As advertised, cable is very flexible and comes with Double Braided Nylon which makes this cable super durable (you can tell right out of the box, the cable has a nice thickness to it). I don't have to worry about kinking or damaging the cable from bends, twists, or coiling. It's also a bonus that it comes with Velcro wrap to assist with cable management. The sleeves that cover the contact points between the cable and the USB heads are well protected with an extended (not sure if it's plastic or rubber) neck which is nice, that should ensure the longevity of the cable and it's also quite rigid so there is ample of support on the connection points. I did not run any scientific testing for transfer speeds as I do not have any devices that read/write anywhere near 5gb/s, however I did test transferring 5gb of data from my PC to SG8+ which took about 3 minutes (smaller batch files transfers where anywhere from 180-250 mb/s) to me this is more than satisfactory as this is better than my older cables. My primary use of this cable is for charging my SG8 + which it does a superb job of; charging times matches expectation as it's on par with fast charging out of the box from the manufacture, without a fast charging brick, it runs standard 2.1 amp which is exactly what I would expect with my SG8+. Overall, an excellent USB Type-C to Type-A 3.1 cable by AmazonBasic, I would totally recommend picking up a few of these if you need more charging cables and/or want to replace cables you currently have as these are far more durable then what most manufactures provide.
