Update - Ordered an additional set. Those are darker, they're not beige, they're light brown. Sending them back and reordering. Update- The new ones arrived today (September). These are thinner than the old ones and the back is bright white instead of beige. I hope they last as long. --- I've had those for over 3 years now. The back of my house faces south west and gets a TON of sun. The rooms can become furnaces on bright sunny days. These curtains have helped a lot in reducing the amount of heat. They're not pretty, but the quality is there. They feel more like industrial curtains you'd find in a commercial setting. After 3 years, I tried to wash them, the backing peeled off. They're not washable (perhaps when they're new?) For the price, having lasted 3 years is good enough. After over 3 years of cooking in the sun, the 2 pairs I have in the master bedroom are due for a replacement. The curtains themselves look brand new but the backing that's continually exposed to the sun is pulverizing and has become a power which can easily be wiped off. The curtains look great, but they are no longer opaque, light comes through when the sun is shining. Since the main purpose for me is the thermal ability, I need to replace them with fresh ones. This has not happened to all the curtains, only the ones that face the sun continually for half the day. Quality product!

The curtains themselves block 100% of light. However, light comes in through the grommets, around the top and sides, and where the panels meet. I want to be able to tell when it is daylight outside, so this works for me. Hung normally, I can see my hand in front of my face at night (bright security light outside), and aI don't need to turn on a light in daytime. If you want a completely dark room, especially for daytime sleeping, you need to get a non-grommet version, hang them so they touch the ceiling, and possibly tape the edges to your walls. If you have a larger window, you might want to Velcro or sew the panels together. I am using three sets to cover a 10ft window. That covers the window, with a moderate amount of gathering (similar to the product photos). I went with the second longest size, as I don't want to block my baseboard heat. They're ugly. My white ones are a faint blueish white, and look like they belong in a hotel. Because the fabric is so thick, they don't have a nice drape to them. You'll need to iron them, or mist them and run them through a dryer, to get the wrinkles out.

It's good, not perfect Blackout for the white curtain. But of course, it's a white curtain so you can't expect too much of it. I'm pretty sure a black curtain would be total Blackout, but I like the look of the white. Does have many wrinkles, I have yet to wash it, so hopefully once I wash it they will come out.

These curtains are fantastic! When they say "room darkening" they mean "room darkening". Unfortunately, they block out too much light to the point where my living room looks like a vampire lives there! Highly recommend if you want true room darkening.

These are the best black out curtains I've ever had. They do not look like they are black out curtains. They look like white linen curtains but pull them together and NO LIGHT is getting through. Best ever for this night nurse.

They are very heavy and almost a grayish white. It’s impossible to get the wrinkles out. A steamer helps but still difficult. For the money it’s worth it.

Got it for my son. His room gets a good amount of sun light, and he wanted to block it out. Received it quickly. Easy to setup, just put it on the curtain rod and your done. It keeps the room pretty dark, can even till that it is sunny out side. Would recommend it.
