These curtains are worthy of the "blackout" description. They are also doing a good job of reducing heat in the sunny room I'm using them in. They don't hang real nicely due to stiffness of material, otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. Still doing the job I bought them for, though.

I just wanted an inexpensive window covering…what I got was a high-end looking drapery. I know…crazy talk but they are lovely. The taupe is a soft-sophisticated (laundry rooms like to look good too) nicely draping fabric. The laundry room is quite shabby ,,, really, but the drapery is quit chic.

    • OK for the purpose
These "curtains" (I'd call them "drapes") are well worth their modest price. They are sturdy and well-made. We hung a pair of them on our den double windows today, and they do as promised, namely darken the room for TV viewing and insulate against the sun's heat (the windows face south). I would not call the drapes beautiful, but I'd say they are practical. I have rated them only 3 stars because it was impossible for me to get rid of their wrinkles and deep fold lines. I had to use a hot steam iron (setting #6), spent about 20 minutes ironing each panel, and ended up merely changed the wrinkles from "deep" to "subtle." The wrinkles and fold lines are still noticeable. The tag states that the drapes are washable, must be line dried, and recommends using a warm iron. I don't look forward to the experience. ... show more

I was looking for something cheap for my son’s nursery, these work well for the price. The grommets leak in some light, and I got the short curtains so some light comes in through the bottom. I got one set and each panel is large enough to cover a window. I was surprised by how well they keep out the drafts from our old windows, which is a plus. ... show more

    • Wrinkle free? Not exactly.
Pros: inexpensive, do a good job of blocking light, cold and heat, and once you get the wrinkles out they look good on the window. But what a job that was! They come folded up in a small box and were very badly wrinkled. Took me hours of work with an iron before I could hang them. Next time I will spend more & save myself the work. ... show more

These curtains are much better once you steam them using the highest possible steam setting. Please see my photos showing the steamed curtain (left) versus the curtain as it comes in the mail (right). Overall, they offer good value for the price in terms of looks and energy efficiency.
