The liner zipper is sewn in upside down with no zipper tab and the telescoping handle isn't telescoping easily. Why wasn't the quality checked? This case is NOT well made. I almost want a refund or an exchange. Looks good. Smells new. However, it needs quality control.

Two super important features to note regarding this suitcase: 1) it's not a spinner, and 2) the height measurement will restrict it from most if not all international travel as a carry-on. So count on it for domestic flights only - and double check with your particular airline, as the ultra-lowcost carriers might have smaller allowances. I measured this suitcase - which to me is royal blue, not navy blue - and it comes out a generous inch taller than my present hardside spinner carryon that has gone all over the world in the cabin with me. Meaning, I haven't had to check it as baggage yet. My present carryon is 21.4" tall. The Amazon model may well get eyeballed into gate checking on an international flight - don't risk it. So, what are the pros of a suitcase like this? First, it's very lightweight, about 1.5 pounds lighter than my spinner. Second, because it's fabric it has a lot of flexibility when overpacking. Third, it's basic and doesn't have a TSA lock to fiddle with. Zippers are nice and big. Fourth, it isn't a spinner, which means it can hold up better when crossing over uneven surfaces like cobblestones, bricks, potholes, dropping off curbs, and the like - things that might damage a spinner's more exposed wheels. The cover opens like a book, meaning, the cover (with 2 outside pockets) is one piece with little interior storage, and all the storage is on the other side, and it's deep. Not half and half as with spinners. So there is more usable space with this, by far. The situations in which this would come in handy are traveling by train, bus, car, or certain domestic flights. I'm not a huge fan of the tote bag, because it's really too small to be of much use, and too big to work as a crossbody. I'd rather the fabric was used to make a matching backpack that fits underseat dimensions of 17" x 11" x 8" or whatever they are. For the price, it's an okay value. Take away the tote bag and lower the price and it would be a better value.
