I needed an inexpensive bed skirt. The one I had was getting tatty. So, I found this at Amazon. Many reviews mentioned that is was lightweight, and it is. However, it doesn’t appear cheap. It is sized well for a queen bed, and the length is generous. It looks very nice. I really didn’t expect that it would look as lovely as it does. Pleased.

I'm not a bed skirt connoisseur. I think I had a frilly bed skirt on my bed as a teen, but I've managed to make it into my 40s without purchasing one on my own. However, my husband bought a metal platform bed frame for my son's room, which was great because it has a lot of room underneath for storage containers but not so great because the metal legs look a bit cheap and you could see the plastic storage bins under the bed when you walked into the room. So, I decided that a bed skirt was needed. When I started shopping, I was happy to find that a more modern pleated look is available. I learned that I would need to measure to figure out what drop I would need. Then, I learned that you usually would measure from the top of the box spring to the floor, but since we are using a platform bed without a box spring, I needed to measure from the top of the base to the floor. There are some differing opinions on whether or not a bed skirt should touch the floor, but most recommendations seem to be within a half inch give or take and an inch at the most. Since I measured just a tad over 16", that narrowed my options down to 16" pleated bed skirts, and the Amazon Basics one offered the lowest price at the time. The bed skirt material is pretty thin, but the black color I purchased is not at all see through and does the job of covering up what is under the bed. After washing the bedskirt, it was relatively wrinkle free. But after use, it did get some wrinkles. Luckily, the black color does a pretty good job of camouflaging the wrinkles, and they aren't really noticeable unless you are looking closely. That works for me, but this might not be the right pick if you are looking for something more tailored and pressed looking. The hardest part was getting it on the bed. I managed to get the full size mattress into place alone, but I recommend having help if you can. I read some articles saying that a platform bed can cause some issues with the bed skirt slipping and tearing, but that hasn't been an issue after a week of use. I have only had to do a tiny bit of adjusting, which is much better than expected. I think having rubber pads between the frame and the bed skirt helps. All in all, very happy with this purchase.

This was purchased for our spare bedroom and I love that this fabric is almost what I would consider a sheet material as a whole and not like what you get in other stores where the center is that cheap white material that rips and tears after a while. The color is accurate with what is shown. Easy to put on, seems to be a durable weight. If you have a low setting bed it does hang long and some material lays on the floor. Our master bed sets higher so it will be perfect.

Unfortunately, the bed skirt fell short of my expectations due to its disappointing fabric quality. While the color is appealing, the fabric itself lacks durability and feels cheap. Additionally, the oversized fit exacerbates the issue, as the poor quality fabric easily wrinkles and bunches up, detracting from the overall appearance of the bed. Despite its aesthetic potential, the subpar fabric quality ultimately diminishes the value of this bed skirt.

So far I love this. It fit nicely on the bed. I was hesitant about it being so cheap. The entire thing is made of the same material. Usually they have that very thin easy tear material that goes under the mattress but this is not that. Hopefully it lasts awhile. My kids always tear the ones with the thin material.
