i have not traveled with this amazon basics 28" expandable spinner yet, so after the big trip in a couple weeks i can update with a performance review. however, the case is lacking a couple key features i think it worthwhile to mention. nearly every other suitcase i have ever used has these features, so it is surprising that one with a pricetag over $100 does not. the first missing feature is some kind of handle or grip on the bottom. this seems like a standard and logical feature that every suitcase should have so that the user and handlers can load, unload, and generally move it around with relative ease. a large suitcase like this, when it is loaded will easily be around the common weight limit of 50 pounds. without the handle or grip on bottom it will be very awkward to move and invites use of the wheels as a grab point which could result in breakage. the second missing feature is the lack of those overlapping loops on the zippers to place a lock through. i don't like the built in locks on suitcases and prefer to use my own small padlocks. since this case doesn't have a built in lock, the least they could do was include the overlapping loops on the zippers. the zipper tabs do have holes at the end and a lock could be placed there, but the overlapping loops are just so much more secure and have less chance of being damaged where they are in tight against the bag rather than dangling off of the bag an inch or so. otherwise the bag seems to be constructed well and rolls easily when empty. i will try to update this review after we travel halfway around the world and back.

I needed a large, hard-case suitcase and this fit the bill. I've now checked this with the airlines four times and so far no scratches. While the zipper looks sturdy, I did purchase a pair of luggage straps to reduce the pressure on the zipper and ensure everything stays in place. The interior has ample space and is well designed. I have plenty of luggage now but if I decide to get another size, I will buy another in this set.

Recently took this on a trip to Europe; I didn't previously have any dedicated luggage of my own and wanted something spacious for souvenirs. The plastic shell doesn't seem obvious fragile and the wheels are generally quite nice; it has a lot of usable space though there is no padding in the interior; I would recommend ensuring anything fragile you pack to be thoroughly wrapped. My one complaint is that the non-black colors will likely pick up scuffs very easily; that's the nature of travel but it's still worth considering.

The suitcase itself is what I wanted. But it has a very strong chemical plastic smell. I am going to see if the smell goes away in a few days - leaving it open and using a fan on it. If it doesn't go away, then I will return it. UPDATE After 2 days of leaving suitcase open and having a fan blow on it - the smell seems to be all gone. I have packed the items in it that I want so we'll see if being closed causes the smell to come back. I have also changed the overall rating to a 4.

I didn’t expect much from an Amazon Basics suitcase but I am pleasantly surprised at how durable it is. I used to cheap out HARD on my luggage in the past so even this was a big upgrade for me. It felt very sturdy and survived several flights, road trips, and general abuse with friends. I even had to give it a bath after one of my cats decided to make a mess of it. It handled the water very well.

I went on a trip to Europe and I need a luggage last minute and this was the perfect since it came overnight. This was good in size for those airline who are so restrictive such as easy jet and I can’t remember the other one. I would definitely recommend for those on budget and last minute. It fit most of my things I would recommend to make sure of the weight of your stuff. But in the end it was survived my vacation to three locations like Italy where they had cobble stone.

Chose this over other similar products because of price. Spacious inside, sturdy outer shell and easy to maneuver. Didn’t give 5 stars because the telescopic handles feel a little unsteady when pulling the bag on the wheels - not quite like they will break off but enough to cause concern.
