If you’d told me a few months ago that I’d be genuinely impressed by Amazon Basics Chopped Ground Dinner Wet Dog Food, I would’ve chuckled and politely disagreed. While Amazon Basics offers plenty of solid products, they’ve had their share of misses. This dog food, however, is a clear win. We have two very different dogs—a 3-year-old Staffordshire/Lab mix and a 6-month-old Cane Corso—and both of them absolutely love the Filet Mignon and Beef flavors in this variety pack. Mealtime has become a tail-wagging frenzy, and they consistently clean their bowls without hesitation. From a quality standpoint, this food holds its own against pricier, breed-specific brands. The texture is consistent, and the aroma is surprisingly pleasant—not the usual off-putting smell you get from many canned dog foods. It’s made with natural ingredients, which gives us peace of mind about what we’re feeding our pups. The can size is perfect for our routine. We split one can between the two dogs and mix it with their dry kibble for dinner. It blends well, adds moisture and flavor, and they scarf it down like it’s a gourmet treat. Bottom line: I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to other dog owners. It’s affordable, well-made, and clearly delicious—at least according to our dogs. Amazon Basics nailed it with this one.

This canned food is by far the best priced per ounce out there. All 6 of my pets love it! It is a light brown pate texture. Strong canned food smell, but doesn't linger. No stomach issues for my pets.

Our 4 dogs love this food. It's great for covering their pills. Also easy to mix in with dry dog food. The only problem I have is that 3 of the cans had good size dents. There was no packing material used in shipping the box . We don't like to use any food for us or the dogs that have dents. Would have been a good price if the 3 can's had not been dented.

Thank the Lord Amazon has put out an affordable canned dog food again! I have 6 dogs, Pomchis, and they are quite partial to canned food, plus whatever I make for them when I cook as well. But they are finicky, whether it's what I cooked or what comes in the can, and lately, I just can't make them happy, and they let their food sit till hunger takes over. lol. Poor things. It's too easy to take the attitude that they are "just dogs", because they are so much more than that. They are the reason I still wake up each day. But when the price of canned dog food recently literally DOUBLED, I had concerns that either I had to find SOMETHING or I was going to have to eat what they eat...this is the world we're in today. It's not funny, really. I could not watch them getting thinner and thinner while I "eat cake". But there seemed to be an issue with the Pedigree food they've been eating for years, and I don't know what happened, but they started refusing it completely, and I was throwing away at least 3 full cans of it a day. Then the price went from $16.98 to now often $30.00 for 12 cans! I don't know what's up with that, but if they aren't going to improve the taste or something with that increase, I'm not going to keep buying it. Trying to wean them over to dry food was miserable. They thought they were being punished. Then I found this, and what do you know, they LIKE it! I won't say love it. But they like it. They LOVE Ceasers, those little 3 oz things.....but they had to get over that, because extremely expensive when there are 6 hungry mouths. So, maybe this is just an introductory price, and once they get a consumer base established, they'll shoot the price up there with the others, but I am on a fixed income, and I love my dogs, and we should not have to settle for lower quality foods just because we have a few more than most people. I NEED them, and they need me. Some years ago, Amazon had a brand, I think it was Wag, that was very affordable and nutritious too. I had them on that and the treats as well, for a while, then it seemed like overnight, the price went right up there to the level of top shelf food. So I had to let it go, and step down. I was doing ONE and Pedigree for a while, but now it's skyrocketing. So I'm hopefull Amazon has remembered us little bread and butter people that have built them to where they are, and they will show their gratitude by keeping some of the things we hold most dear to our hearts affordable to feed and keep healthy. Because when they are healthy, I AM HEALTHY. Thank you Amazon, we needed this! edit: Our second delivery has been on DELAY for a couple weeks now. I so HOPE this is not a bad omen, and if the introduction of the new affordable Amazon brand was just a hook, Shame on them! Pease bring it soon!

I bought this food as it was comparable to other name brands but lower price. The food was good and my 3 dogs like it. However I only gave 3 stars because several of the cans pop top popped off without opening the lid. I tried a can opener but it wouldn’t open the cans! I then had to beat the can top and use pliers to get the cans open. Won’t buy again because of the can problem.

We have a pug and a chug dogs. The pug has a very sensitive stomach but she likes this dog food and eats it with no problem. It’s what I get every month and at a good price.
