This isn't the most soothing product I have used for a sunburn, however, it is the most cost effective relative to the relief and size of the product. I didn't have high expectations, I actually expected this product to be a dud, but if you apply generously, you don't feel any application pain, which is more than I can say for many "soothing" products I have tried over the years. This product does not numb the pain, only makes it manageable, which I expected given the very minor quantity of Menthol and Lidocaine. I predominantly bought it for the aloe content, as I recently moved and no longer have access to my aloe garden. I've been treating my burn with witch hazel for two days, with only minor healing, until this product arrived. The rednessed halved within one day of regularly applying, and another quarter of that next day. My skin is clearing up with no signs of peeling, freckling, or noticable tan. As many times I have been burned without treatment and aware of the healing times, I can say this gel works well. The g slightly smells of lidocaine. It is neither scentless, nor smells bad, as I have seen in some reviews. It's no different than a weak ankle cream or mouth wash. My only complaint is the unecessary blue coloring. It WILL faintly dye your hands, and whatever light color it comes into contact with.

Once again, AmazonBasics has delivered a solid product with their Aloe Vera gel. In a time when non-name brands are becoming increasingly popular due to rising inflation, this product stands out as a budget-friendly option without compromising on quality. It's comparable to what you'd find at Costco, Sam's Club, or Walmart, and I wouldn't be surprised if a big-name company is behind its production.One interesting choice is the blue gel, which deviates from the conventional green color we usually associate with aloe vera. However, the color doesn't affect the efficacy of the product. The key is in the percentage of real aloe vera, so make sure to check the ingredients if you're looking for a higher concentration.For my needs, this AmazonBasics Aloe Vera gel worked great. I don't spend a lot of time in the sun, so it provided the cooling and soothing effect I needed without the need for a higher concentration of aloe vera. Overall, it's another win for AmazonBasics, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cost-effective option.

Good cooling effects due to lidocaine I wouldn't use on face too easy for it to sweat towards eyes. But Good for adults or a bad sunburn.

This is a great deal! The gel is thick and not too watery. It feels a little bit sticky at first, but once it absorbs it’s fine. I got this to keep on hand in case my 5 year old gets burnt this summer. He’s a sensory kiddo and doesn’t like sprays or lotions, but he thinks the gel is cool! I put a little bit on him and he said “BRRRR!! It’s cold!” Smells good, like menthol but not overpowering. I know it says it has lidocaine in it, but it’s a VERY minuscule amount: 0.7 %. Most numbing creams from the store are around 3-4%. This helps take the edge off, but it doesn’t numb your skin. It’s great for kids! ☀️

I have purchased a product just like this before with same ingredients. Glad to find a similar product to what I have purchased and used before plus being at a good price. I use this on sunburns, stings. bug bites, scrapes and scratches as it works much better than just regular aloe vera as this contains a small amount of lidocaine that makes a big difference when it comes to irritation and pain. The previous product I used was not a menthol, but I have not noticed any difference with the menthol upon using it. Works great and yes, I would definitely purchase this product again.

I purchased several different kinds of aloe for my kids for a beach trip last week. This wasn't the winner as they felt it was more slimy and sticky than another one I purchased. It does have a cooling effect which was magnified when kept in the refrigerator, which one of my kids did really like.
