  • Seems to be good stuff
I use this in a 20+ year old pickup truck with about a quarter million miles on it. Seems to do just as good as a name brand.

  • Very nice
For being an Amazon basic, this oil is top-notch. It always scores well in independent studies. I have used it for all sorts of machinery and vehicles. So far, no complaints at all. 5w30 is so much better for most items.

  • Incredible Value
Almost unbelievable price for 6qts of full synthetic, Dexos compliant 5w-30 oil. I buy fleet cases of filters and can now do my own oil changes for $25 in about 15 minutes. Absolutely no reason not to change the oil every 3k miles (oil life on car's computer usually at 25% remaining at 3k). Think about that for a minute. If I keep my car for 100,000 miles/10 years, the difference between 3k (33 changes) and 4k (25 changes) oil change intervals is 8 changes (+$200 total or +$20/year). Amazon, please offer synthetic 20w-50 at this price point!!! Edit: after running for 3,000 miles on my regular oil change interval I'm even more impressed with this oil. Engine ran perfectly and did not consume a measurable amount of oil. Drain oil was brown and not black and still very slick feeling. The real proof was on the magnetic drain plug and bottom of the oil drain pan. Nothing metallic. Almost unbelievably clean. As the person who has done over a dozen oil changes on this vehicle and specifically looks for these sorts of things this is very impressive. This oil could have easily gone 1,000-2,000 more miles. Again, at this price, no need to though. Edit #2: unfortunately Amazon has raised the price considerably (50%+) since posting original review. It's still a good value but no longer a great value. ... show more

  • Great Oil, Great Price
Great product. I have a supercharged 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3 running a modest 9psi of boost as my daily driver. I’ve been using Amsoil Signature Series full synthetic but recently switched to this because the virgin oil analysis reflects that it’s a great product with a premium additive pack, similar (if not identical) to many other premium offerings. Regardless of the oils I’ve used (Amsoil, Redline, Valvoline, Gulf, Moly-Lube, etc...), the EcoTec3 V8 engines consume a fair amount of oil under normal conditions. Once you begin to add boost, oil consumption is increased. This is especially true for the 0W-20 oils which have much higher NOACK volatility numbers compared to the 5W-20 & 30 offerings. The Amazon oil is no different, but at $3 a quart, it reduces my annual operating costs. I have about $7,000 invested in this engine. I wouldn’t risk engine damage just to save a few bucks a quart with an oil that was anything but excellent. This oil is a premium offering, I run it with confidence and save a some money by doing so. ... show more

  • As good as Mobil 1
My truck takes six (6) quarts, so I use a five quart jug of Mobil1 and a single quart of the "cheap" stuff for quart #6. Well, the "cheap" stuff is just as good as the Mobil1. Some objective testing done online shows that. Don't be afraid to buy this oil if the name brand stuff is too expensive, or if you need a quart to top off. Generally speaking, the frequency of oil changes will be more important to our vehicle's longevity than the brand of oil you use, anyway. ... show more

  • Yea it is rare
I was on the fence about using a big & large form of oil "wall e joke" but do not regret it. I needed to get my oil changed fast last minute trip amazon was way faster came in that morning after ordering. No loss of anything no difference between the top end oil I used before. I will drain tge oil at 3k miles and update review. I have a 2017 f150 with less than 30k miles I baby my truck it is not for work it is for runs to lowes and getting through traffic in seattle. ... show more
