  • Almost a perfect 5 Star! Best smartwatch I have ever owned to date!
Team Name: T-Rex Color: Rock Black
(GENERAL) - Have had for about a week now. - I have a Pixel 4 XL Android OS 10 - Don't use it for fitness. - Use it for time, date, notifications and sleep tracking. (PROS) - PRICE! - Wicked long Battery life, removes the life battery anxiety. - Always on display option, removes the annoying wake up move your arm wrist flick to see the time frustration. - Sleep tracking is dead on. Kids wake me up due to accident in bed. Shows the exact times I woke up and went back to bed. Sleep tracking hands down was the sleeper bonus feature, I was not expecting. - Very fast screen transitions. Not laggy at all. - Amazfit Android is wicked simple to use. Love it way better then Android WearOS and Google Fit, as I have trouble making Google apps work with Google Gsuite accounts (ridiculous). - Watch setup was wicked simple to setup. - Chinsy watch strap is shockingly not that bad! I kind of like the stretchy elastic material. - Screen is bright and visible indoor and outdoors. Does the job. - Water proof for swimming, beach, rain, washing hands / arms, etc. (CONS) Fix these and I will give it 5 perfect stars! - #1!! No font size change options. You have bad older eyes, tuff luck. There are some Russian hacks for font changes.. but do you really want to upload that to your watch and grant access to your phone data. Better off just getting readers. Hope they fix or give this a feature change in a future OS update. - Watch face choices are very limited. But are alright. Get the job done. Hope they add more in future software updates. - Optional always on display only has 2 watch face choices. A digital or analog. Again very poor variety choices but gets the job done. - Needs access to my Android contacts to show caller name. If you deny access you only see the phone number only. I suspect this is by design, and would be an issue for all smartwatches. Unfortunately I do not know what this company is tracking / data mining. So I do not grant access to my sensitive data. All the others android OS access denies, appear to be OK or little to no effect on watch. - Sleep tracking records my pre-sleep movie time, as sleeping. Makes sense why it does this. But wish there was some creative for it to know sleeping vs motionless in bed watching a movie. in short.. shows I am sleeping longer then I really am due to my bad habit. - I sometimes get duplicate and triple notification history. It alerts one at a time, but notification history shows duplicate entries. Might be something I am doing wrong. But I suspect its a software update that would be able to fix. This is not an issue for me.. as I read the notifications realtime as they come in.. vs scrolling through notification history over the last x hours. - Notifications are basic and short. Wish it displayed more of an email, etc. But gets the job done. I mostly want or needed the watch to show a brief anyway. I.e oh that's a vendor email, I can ignore that, or pull out phone later or read later on desktop. So the brief notification is honestly what I need 99% of the time. But sometimes I find I wish it showed more. - Watch band is proprietary. Not a typical normal shape or size. You can buy replacements. But options are very limited. Wish they designed the band a normal standard type. (SUMMARY) - Best smart watch I have had to date! Wife has the Fossil GEN5 Watch OS. Frustrating as all get out. Slow screen transitions. Battery life is very poor. Has to charge nightly. Can't do sleep tracking, because of poor battery life. - Would call this a semi-smart watch, and not a full smart watch. ie. no voice assistant, can't reply to notifications, no speaker or microphone, cant make calls with the watch, no 3rd party app support, etc. But I honestly would prefer all of those tradeoffs for superior battery life. - I suspect my normal day to day with this watch, will be, charge while in the shower, and wear it the rest of the time. I suspect it will be at 100% charge every time that way. Right now, I am stress testing no charge, no GPS, notifications, always on display, heart and sleep tracking, and will post photos as I get to zero. Based in what I am getting now, I suspect I'll get 6-7 days of always on battery life. If so, that's still champion. Can go on vacation without a charger! ... show more

  • Great simple G-Shock smartwatch alternative with unbelievable battery life
Team Name: T-Rex Color: Rock Black
I've only had 1 other smart watch. It was a TicWatch E that was an inexpensive Wear OS watch that I purchased in December of 2017. I really liked Wear OS, but the watch only lasted about a year before it would no longer charge. I'm a carpenter & was looking for a more robust smart watch. Something that would show me incoming calls & text messages. I didn't really need to be able to answer calls or texts from my watch, just wanted to see if it was my wife, etc. & I needed to answer right away. As a contractor, I tend to get lots of calls & texts during the day and as you can imagine, when you're on a ladder or covered in sawdust it's not always a great time to pull your phone out of your pocket. So, the T-Rex has some limitations, but for me it was exactly what I was looking for. It's a big watch, but I'm a big guy. I was a little worried about weather or not the band would fit on my wrist. My wrist is around 8 inches in diameter. The band that comes with the watch is a soft silicone & it's super stretchy, in a good way. I can wear it with the pin inserted in the 3rd hole. If I stretch the band a bit I can get it in the 4th hole. The watch looks a lot like the Casio G-Shock type of watch. I've work G-Shocks for over 20 years, so that's the look I was going for. When I first bought the watch, I wore it 24-7 to try out the sleep tracking. It seemed fine. My wife is an avid Fitbit wearer & always looks at her sleep tracking. I guess I don't care that much & I didn't want to wear the watch 24/7 so after about a week, I stopped wearing it to sleep. The watch has a heart rater monitor & that seems to work well. To me, the biggest selling point besides the style is the battery life. Now, I'm not playing with this thing all the time. I use it as a watch, to check the date, & to see who's calling or texting. If I leave it as simple as that, I've actually gone 22 days before I had to charge it again! That's huge! With my TicWatch I had to charge it every night. It's nice to be able to wear it all day, see call & text notifications, & take it off & put it back on the next day without having to charge it. A few other things to note. It has a step counter & seems to work great. It has some type of water resistance rating. I've showered with it on. This was important to me since I'm constantly covered in sawdust, drywall dust, sweat, etc. It's been great. Also, you can see notifications for texts & calls, but you cannot answer them. The watch can be connected to your phone via Bluetooth & can control things with that. For example, you can deny a phone call or you can pause or play the music that is playing on your phone, but you cannot reply to a text. Overall, for the price point, I'm very happy with the watch. I have a Samsung Note 10 & it works fine with that. I don't really use the app much, so I'm going to withhold any judgement of that. Hope this helps. ... show more
