I used these 6 inch garden staples to hold down burlap on some crumbly dirt on a slope. The burlap is intended to hold the dirt back. Actually, I put cardboard underneath because rain is coming. I had read that cardboard can be a good weed barrier in a garden and it is biodegradable. We shall see. Even if it is temporary, I am glad I put it all this down. The staples held everything nicely. I would suggested getting the bigger pack if you are going to use a lot. 50 staples goes pretty fast so it is more economical to buy the larger pack. Also consider the longer staples to really hold things down, especially if you are dealing with loose soil or on an incline. If you are using this for other purposes, definitely consider the various lengths and not just 6 inch. Good luck!

These staples are heavy duty, large and work well. Used them to hold down cardboard in the garden for the winter. They go in easy, are not easily bended out of shape. Hold their shape well. I put them by hand then set by foot in thick cardboard. Ends are sharp and go in easily. Plenty more than I needed but I am sure I will find may other uses for them!! Would recommend.

Definitely long enough! Solid, durable garden stakes, and rocks in the ground don't seem to affect their use. I tried using them to hold-down a large (extra tall) metal fence that had risen up on the bottom, but they did not hold the fence down at all. Maybe I'll try pounding them at an angle. However, they will definitely be good enough to hold my Snowman Family, Christmas yard ornaments (that came with little six-inch stakes that did not work and they fell down in the wind everyday.) I am sure to find other uses for these very solid, twelve-inch garden stakes, but did not need a hundred! I'll have to give some away as gifts to my neighbors.
