Good gauge aluminum, plenty durable all the basics for let’s experience pilots right in front of you decent strap for your leg and a very manageable size. It’s a no frills. It’s not a fold over with everything you want to have with you it’s just meant for flight plans and everything else to go into your bag ... show more

    • It was going great until...
The media could not be loaded. The kneeboard was easy to assemble (just required attaching the strap) and I had it on my leg in a minute. The strap is good and stretchy... so it holds securely but comfortably. The graphics are clear and legible, and also pretty standard for kneeboards. It's aluminum so it conforms to your leg but still feels very resistant to bending under normal use. I thought the pen was going to be super-low quality but it wasn't; mine writes very nicely. The metal clip that holds the paper yawns wide enough that you should be able to fit any checklist in there, unless you're piloting a quantum flying saucer. I guess I'll put this in my bag till I fly. Let me just put the pen in the plastic clip and... ugh. There it is. I don't know how they can include a nice big comfortable pen and then attach a clip that's badly designed and really too small for it. I'm never attaching the pen with 2 hands, so I'll either have to hold the clip forward with one finger while putting the pen in position and then squeezing it on or sticking it in from the side and messing around with it till I get it holding on. That is too much distraction. Not to mention that the clip does not accept the pen without quite a bit of flexing, and I feel like cold or heat will cause taking the pen in and out a number of times to potentially break the clip. And then you need to find someplace to stick your pen for the rest of the flight. I'm so disappointed because this kneeboard is really nice and it's a good deal! If you have an alternate solution for the clip and pen combination, I can recommend it. But until they upgrade the pen clip, it's one of those things that can cause a different kind of paperwork if things go wrong the right way. ... show more

Unless your thigh is 40” in circumference the Velcro strap will not fit. Save time don’t bother. Im sending this back asap.
